Topic: Have you ever been banned from a gaming site?

Nope.

I got banned off Club P for using foul language.

I got off Meez for that too.

But, seriously, I never did.

I lie a lot.

club penguin. before you think "what a dork!" let me tell you the story:

ok i checked my email one day and i randomly got one from club penguin. so i opened it and apparently some guy sent the activation code for his account to my email (who it was, i dont know). the email gave me the password to the guys account so i decide to have a little fun. i go on the site using the guys account and i start running around the place cussing (in order to keep from getting banned for swearing, i put spaces in between my letters i.e. B * * * H!) then one guy reported me or something and the moderators read through my chat history and saw all the terrible stuff i wrote and i got banned

same for me. i always wrote these long reviews for that site due to lenght requirements and the mods always rejected them for unkwown reasons. so by then i came to wiiware world and yahoo! video games until the merger so now i only go to NL.

What is this "Club Penguin" people speak of? No, I don't know how to search for things on the internets myself.

Not banned, but I'm currently suspended from Gamespot. It's kind of weird actually, I didn't use any curse words or foul language.

What can I say? System Wars makes me angry. I believe the guy said that "Now that the Wii fad is over, the PS3 will finally be king!". I said something like "That's one of the most delusional, ignorant, convoluted statements I've ever heard". Suspended. For 3 days. Oh well.

I have banned from Gamespot 5 times ! A couple of them were alts.

They will ban you so fast it's sick!

Just stay as far away as possible, you'll still enjoy Disney that way.

Their mods are insane. I personally think it's bringing down the site.

That's the risk they run. Other sites might want to take heed, lest they alienate decent, contributing members.

Never been banned but I will never post at Gamespot again. When you comment on stories there they have the thumbs up/down thing and your post is hidden there after you get 8 thumbs down. It doesn't matter if what you said was clean, dirty, true or false, you get hidden based on unpopularity. So if you differ in opinion from the other people, they can thumbs down you to death.

I think censoring based on popularity is the most ridiculous thing ever so after having a few of my posts hidden because I'm not popular I have given up. Do you actually have a voice if other people can shut you down so easily? I think not. I had a post hidden in literally minutes simply for mentioning RuneScape, I said nothing wrong or against the TOS, I only mentioned RuneScape because the artice was about free MMO's.

So screw you Gamespot, I'll tell you where your thumbs belong.

The thumbs down/up thing really pisses me off. I often get modded there just because someone didn't agree with my opinion. Even if you just say something inoffensive like "I love this game" or "great article, Gamespot!", you can still get "thumbs down'd". It's insane! I only go there for the forums, but now I'm suspended, so I can't even use those. Gamespot's stupid.

I got banned from Screwattack when I mentioned that it was turning into a cult so it didn't bother me.
Non-gaming I got banned from Marvel.com for daring to question the "great" Joe Quesada about "One More Day/Brand New Day".

Jeez, most of your reasons are very lame ones to be banned.
I wonder how they can choose those kind of peoples for forum moderators.

1) The recent surge of new members of course
2) would truly hate to start new topics on older ones
3) they seemed interesting....
