ABC has the American rights to the Olympics so that postpones the airing of future episodes.

Thanks for your memories on the classic "V." You are hardcore!
As a kid "V" the Final Battle was my favorite because it had more action, but as I got older it's clear that the orginal mini-series was just better. Too bad Kenneth Johnson didn't get to make sequels of mini-series back in the day. I basically enjoy "V" The Final Battle espcially the first 2 parts, but I feel like the 3rd part just sort of dissolves into the cheese of the ill-conceived weekly TV show. The star child was so not in step with the smart vision of Ken Johnson.

I had to double check when i typed it.
@TG: I hear ya, that's why Lost may be taking a break, because of the Olympics. But that aint till Feb next year, plenty of time to show the series. I just thought it was odd, no biggie.

So much of December programming is about Christmas stuff so I'm sure they want to sit on "V" for a little while.

That damn Christmas break always annoyed me. Not that there is any reason for it to. Y'know, cos I totally wait for programs to cross the pond, obviously.

Is British TV that bad?!
27. Posted: Fri 6th Nov 2009 02:55 GMT
Comedy is ace. But drama? No thanks! US is waaay better due to the difference in budget.

I like shows with a British flavor! I enjoy all Dr. Who even the really old episodes that have bad special effects.

Eek, I can't stand Doctor Who, even as a child I thought it was dumb. And on that note, I'm off to bed. 0_o

Hate to spoil it for you guys, but apparantly the show V only had 4 episodes shot, I will be catching it on ABC wesite when it uploads as I missed it when it aired. If you watched you know the premise is that aliens take over the government and they want to instill Universal Healthcare. Well of course, even the producers have come out and said that they wanted to catch on with the "Obama Mania" .... well lets just people are simply OUTRAGED by the show. It will air 3 more episodes and its done for good, because it has stirred up racism rants as well as its supposively hurting Obamas healtcare agena. I heard a lady say this morning that it's the worst thing that Holllywood has ever created and the producers should be reprimanded for taking aim at our president and his policies through the show, AND apparantly the fact that they are aliens, she was saying this is where the racism is coming into play, because aliens are usually different color and from a different planet, and well you can figure it out from there. Yeah, some people will take anything COMPLETELY out of context, and it sounds like they have shut down a heck of a cool show in the process.

@TBD..... yep she said that too. The lady I heard say all this is Margaret Grey, she is an editor for New York Times i think, one of the NY papers and also the one who started all the outrage over Limbaugh buying the St Louis Rams lol. Anywho, she said she coulnt believe that ABC would ever do this and disgsrace their president and on and on. I about fell out of my car driving to work yesterday, not to mention it was like 4am so yeah, it was a funny way to wake up.

Watched it this evening, and whilst I should have really enjoyed it (being the sci-fi nerd I am), I felt a lil underwhelmed. Don't get me wrong it was great, lovely effects, good cast and sufficiently sinister... but, they rushed it big time! They could have easily made that into a double bill, with a bit more character development, and perhaps some calm, before the storm. Looking forward to the next three ep's, and just hope it gets enough viewers to warrant more (that's me saying 'watch it!').
Was great seeing my old Firelfy buddies again. Morena is so alluring, mmm, and fits that role perfectly. Just wished we could have seen the interview, could have been great, but yeah, they squished it.
EDIT: Oh yeah, had to laugh at the medical reference. It was so obvious, too even. Curing people of there ill's is one of the first things a visiting alien race would do, whilst gifting technology and earning trust. It didn't need the blatant nod toward current political issues. Oh well.

@TG64Yep, I am hardcore. I may even still have the original VHS tapes i recorded it all on back in the day (the original miniseries being recorded on my rich friend's early VCR, where the remote control was strangely attached by a cord to the unit!)
@MachuMy feelings exactly on the rushing -- they very easily could have spread the story beats across at least 2 hours -- i was actually surprised when i first saw that the pilot was only an hour. And between this show and Dollhouse (which actually is pretty good now), we get plenty of Firefly gang goodness!
On the whole "controversy" -- i've seen and heard it popping up, and it's so idiotic. Funny that you didn't hear these people getting all angry when Battlestar was commenting on some of the previous adminstration activites and the issues of that time. That's the power of truly good sci-fi -- doing more than just showing flashy lasers and spaceships and going the Michael Bay route, but actually providing some sort of insight, commentary or whatever. But i'll get down off my soapbox now.
She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong. Also, Lindsey Stirling. Because violin awesomeness.

@the shpydar: Agreed, Battlestar had a microcosm for pretty much every major political and sociological issue out there, and they weren't shy in the way that they explored them, yet no one complained. In fact, it received critical acclaim because of it's relevance. sheds a tear for BSG So say we all!

Just finished watching it onine and dang that was a awesome pilot. Lots of Firefly guy in there, and great special effects, I feel you guys on the rushing thing but when I clicked on it it said 18 million people have now watched it. Ummmmm just me but isn't that enough interest to warrant more, i sure hope so

It's pretty effing sweet, although it seems like they crammed a lot of story into 40 minutes. It'll run more like a movie in the end (that is, if it doesn't get continued picked up beyond the 4 episodes it's slated for)
