I'm not the best at English but I'm not the worst I suppose when it comes to grammar and spelling.
I do hate when people type like this " how r u dude whats up".
Look this whole excuse of text typing on phones is understandable but I don't understand how it is hard to type it on a keyboard.

Anyway, again I'm not the best at spelling and feel free to correct my grammar or spelling mistakes.

I try to cut people some slack. You never know if someone is having trouble with spelling or something, because they're a non-native speaker or are dyslexic, or have another learning disability which would make proofreading a forum post for basic grammar/spelling errors not a quick, easy, or natural process. Even with a fair amount of proofing, they'd still miss stuff, like we all do sometimes. Let's be real, none of us are writing academic papers, so we're all liable to let a couple typos here and there slide. Forum writing also resembles speech more than formal writing, and grammar rules are a LOT more flexible in conversations, especially with friends. I expect people to write as legibly and clearly as possible, but we all make mistakes. A lack of language skills doesn't necessarily mean a lack of intelligence. If you can understand their point, go with it. If they're writing like a lolcat, then ignore it if that bothers you.

Although, if you're going to start a thread regarding you being a "Grammar Nazi" yourself, it's probably best to use correct grammar in your post, or at least spell "grammar" correctly.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

I don't mind. I think it's funny sometimes... I make these mistakes sometimes too, but not on purpose, and/or because I don't understand what I'm saying, it's just what I type and I know what I mean to say but sometimes I type it wrong. This is like telling people what to think, and then they're like, "ok", but they still think what they want, and then when the person that told them what to think sees or hears what the other persons thinking, they keep correcting them for what they think is right. They're like, "what did I tell you to think?", and the person that said "ok" before is like "oh ya". Do you get it?

I thought this thread was implicit in equating 'using grammar' with 'using good grammar,' personally.

My post was mostly directed at malnin. Just pointing out that you can't not use grammar. Even using it poorly counts as using it.

I used to be pretty anal about grammar but now I don't say anything unless something really ticks me off.

@Token Girl I think R-L-A-George wasn't saying he was a Grammar Nazi, but rather felt like one because he corrected someone who possibly didn't know the language too well. I say good for him - if no one corrected that person then they would never learn from their mistakes.
