Some people may find it silly. Is it any different than a good piece of music that gives you chills and moves you in ways other people can't understand? People shed tears over movies and books as well, so I find games no different. And I know there are going to be many people who are going to puff up their chest and say they have never had a game make them cry and those who do are a wuss and blah blah blah. There have been a few times, when the music is really good and a story hits a sad part that I have shed a few tears. Parts in Lufia 2 did it and a few other games as well. So what about the rest of you? Can you bring yourself to admit it?

Mega Man X3 almost made me cry, on account of how HARD Sigma's second form was!!!! I knew what would happen had I lost all my lives, and I didn't want to start Sigma Fortress all over again. I finally beat him, and on my final life, no less.
Otherwise, can't think of any game that made me cry.

If you mean with story or character development, then no. However, There are many games that have brought me to tears when it comes to difficulty.

WILL YOUR REIGN OF TERROR KNOW NO END, MEGAMAN 2?!?!

I think I got unbelievably frustrated at this one game once, and it brought me to tears. I can't remember what game it was, as many games frustrated me when I was little.

Just let it happen.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Sky/Darkness. Very sad ending that turns happy

Nope. No story has ever made me cry.
As for difficulty, nope. Instead of crying, I get pissed, turn off the console, and then nothing.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Yes, multiple times, actually:

  • Valkyrie Profile bored me to tears.
  • I cried a little when I punched Super Mario 64 a little too hard after falling into a Lava Pit again.
  • Same story with Super Mario World.
  • I was practically balling when I found out my PS2 card was broken and I realized I had to to play the Ice level in Mega Man X8 again.
  • And I don't think I ever criead as much as I did in Metroid Prime, when I found out my save was corrupted and I had to start all over again.

I hate that word...

MetalMario remembers when his brother's Silver Version was corrupted.

The only time I really cried was when my brother erased my Pokemon Red data (we were both rather young at the time, so I can hardly blame him). Besides I've since leveled up nearly a full party to Lv. 100, so it's all water under the bridge.

Mother 3 was incredibly sad both at the beginning and the end, but I was never on the verge of tears.

I feel my mind dissolving around...

Little Kings Story.

It had been quite some time since I played a game I was so invested in. The characters, the world, my people. During that final ascent, if I'd wanted to cry, I could have. <3

Mabbit

Rocket Slime.
i spent 5 hours trying to get 30 ghosts, so i could put him on my team. then my game ran out of batteries before i could save

All most.
The scene in Super Mario Galaxy where the Luma leaves Mario and goes into the black hole was very sad/confusing.

Lost Odyssey was pretty darned sad when Kaim's daughter died and the grandkids were balling their eyes out.

I've never actually cried whilst playing a game or watching a movie for that matter (I'm a man, grrrr, etc.) But I have felt emotional a few times, when Aries dies in FFVII would be a example, can't think of others just now but there have been moments.
