If you have an opinion about what you consider to be the hardest Mario level ever, tell us about it! Or maybe you have a fond memory of a tough time. Either way, tell us what you think!

Now playing:
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Wii U) | Bravely Default (3DS) | The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)
AC:NL Dream Address: 4100-3259-5964
I would come up with a clever name for my backloggery, but my name prevents it.

Who can possibly forget the Lily Pad Ride from Super Mario Sunshine? I hated that forsaken bonus area.

Nice topic! While I respect the Perfect Run from Galaxy 2 my vote has to go to Champion's Road from Super Mario 3D World. This gets my vote because I was able to beat the Perfect Run while I have yet to take down Champion's Road...

My game library ranges from Mario Kart to Call of Duty to Tales of Xillia to Diablo 3 to Forza. To me gaming is about having fun - not blindly supporting only one company while thumbing your nose at "the other guys."

@brewsky oh man you are so right about that one. When I finally beat that level I remember saying "well, thank God I will never have to do that again." And I never have.

The second or third special world level in Super Mario World. I think it was called Tubular and entire level had you float across it just using the balloon power-up. I remember I had a real problem with that level.

Actually, Champion's Road isn't that hard with Lucky Bells. It's not simple either, but Lucky Bells do help a LOT!!!

@SG9000 Looks like I'm trying it with Lucky Bells tomorrow then :)

It's the part where you have to bounce on the piranha plants that gives me the most trouble.

Little tip: Hold the Jump button for the whole Piranha part and if you screw up you should still keep a Lucky Bell as a backup item just in case.

The hardest one I've played is that luigi level in Mario Galaxy's toy level. The one where you have to collect a ton of coins with all the trick platforms.

Can't say much for Perfect Run because I haven't gotten there yet. But Champions Road definitely has earned a place on the list.

Also, Pendulum Castle from NSMBU was infuriating.

That level was a real pain. I died countless times as a kid, but beating it made me feel that I accomplish something amazing. :P

The only reason Lost Levels is hard is because it's a collection of tough levels with a strict life count. But the levels themselves aren't too tough. It's just that losing a life is more devastating. That being said, World 8-4 is a nightmare. Talk about pixel perfect platforming.
