Happy 9th, by the way where was the Berlin Wall?

Joke? Sarcasm doesn't transfer well on the internet, remember?

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

I'd watch the video I uploaded if you want some more info (or wikipedia it).

Just watched the 20th anniversary show. It was great. Obama only sent a video message but Hillary Clinton and a bunch of Polish and Russian politicians of that time where there in person.

And Stevie, no this day is not a public holiday since 71 years ago at the 09.11.1938 the persecution of the jews by the Nazis in Germany begun and it would be really inappropriate to make this a holiday even though at the 09.11.1989 something great happened.

I didn't record it by the way since it lasted 2 hours but I'm sure somebody will upload the highlights or maybe even the whole 2 hour show in the next few hours/days.

Sounds like it was a cool show, though. Be sure to post some links or embed videos if you can, okay? Please? Otherwise, I'll forget and never see them.:P

Ah, I never thought about that, still I hope it was a great day of reflection and celebration in equal measure.

This is good

I watched it last night. The domino wall was cool. The fall of the Berlin Wall was truly a remarkable event. I was only two years old back then but I remember being fascinated by it in history class when i was 17.

What has that to do with anything? That's a totally different date.

OMG! We are talking about the 9th of November here, not September 11th. It's not our fault you Americans decide to put your dates round the wrong way. LOL :D

EDIT: Good to see the dominoes went to plan. Hope Germany had a good party. :)

Nah it's OK, the rest of the world will be quite happy to carry on using the far more sensible and easy to use metric system and date format and leave America to defy logic and make things harder for themselves :P

Hey, they took a shot at forcing the metric system on us in the 70's and it didn't take. We're stubborn that way. Besides, check this out:

Mile
Kilometer

See how much time I save by typing/saying mile instead of kilometer? It's already paid for itself!

Check this out... Km

Although in England we still use miles when talking about driving, and pounds, ounces and pints as we are diverse. We can use metric or imperial :)

I wish metric was more common in America...and I agree the European date standard makes more sense. Only reason ours is backward is because we tend to say "November 9th" instead of "the 9th of November." Our abbriviation standard reflects this. See? An American who prefers the OTHER standards! IT CAN HAPPEN!:P
