Topic: Happy 29th Birthday, Samus!

Today marks the day the Metroid series first got it legs, August 6th, 1986. It's kinda sad that nobody is celebrating, not even the people that has been long time Metroid fans. Nintendo didn't even tweet about it, nobody said a word about it. Even all the Federation Force hate died down. It's been a really crappy few years for the Metroid series honestly, so I'm just hoping this leak ( http://i.4cdn.org/v/1438904896394.png ) is true about a new 2D Metroid coming sooner or later.

I just can't help but wonder.......why is it that only particular franchises are celebrated instead of all the franchises? For instance, Uprising never had a 25th anniversary logo in the box and yet Mario and Zelda games get that mentioned both in box and in actual games.......

It's only the 29th, usually companies make big deals on milestone anniversaries like 5th, 20th, 30th etc. Not an odd number like 29. It will be odd if they don't say anything next year.

I agree with Tasuki the only reason nobody is celebrating is because its only the 29th. everybody celebrates the 30th.

Uh.. how exactly does the wall of screenshots prove any leaks? They're not source code, posters, or offical nintendo staff tweets/convos. Saying that's a leak for a 2D metroid is less convincing then ridley in smash.

@NightmareEater: @MegaBeedrill: Considering that every one of his social media profiles was taken down, his linkedin page literally said straight up he worked at Next Level before it got took down, and him suddenly stopping posting after his "boss" got on to him, I would put it into consideration.
