For some reason I tend to do a really slight reverence with my head every time I meet someone. Like I'm a stereotypical japanese businessman or something.
It's not a full "headbutt" like they do, but I can't help it, I do it subconsciously. And there's no way I picked that up from anywhere else.
I do this too, and pepper in a few simple Japanese phrases as well (though usually just with family/friends with the latter).
Though, in addition to games, I watch a lot of anime & watch some Japanese news from time to time, so it's probably not just game influenced.
EDIT: Oh! When I was a kid, I would always pretend I was Mario eating coins, whenever I ate round snack crackers, lol. I don't know why I did it, because it's the stupidest thing ever when I think back to it, but I'm always reminded of it when I pick up a cracker.
Having just finished the Ace Attorney Trilogy (again) I've been trying to incorporate the awesome character mannerisms into everyday communication; it's hard to pull off without looking like a complete tool, though. I'm still waiting for the day I can do the "smug head shake" in the middle of a heated debate.
So have any of you picked up something similar from games, whether it be some quirks or phrases?
But you don't point your finger at someone and yell "Objection!" whenever you disagree with someone?
Well... that's the pipe dream. It's gonna be a hell of a job to squeeze that smoothly into a conversation, even more so considering I'll be speaking Finnish.
For now I'll just try and use these:
Oh, and just like @Gamecubed AssCred made hoods awesome in my books, at least for a while.
Currently on the plate:
Mount and Blade: Warband – Napoleonic Wars
Chivalry
Super Mario 3D World – Finishing the last few levels.
Mario Kart 8
"I'll take a potato chip... AND EAT IT!"
Light Yagami, Death Note
"Ah, the Breakfast Club soundtrack! I can't wait 'til I'm old enough to feel ways about stuff!"
Phillip J. Fry, Futurama
Whenever I hit a fork in the road, I always go left.
What's this from?
Every game ever where you must always go left first.
Like what? I've never noticed this in games as a standard.
Every Mario game in existence that give you the choice.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
No joke, after playing Phoenix Wright Justice for All, I started banging on my desk whenever I spoke as a joke. Now it's an uncontrollable habit that I've had for a whole year...
