Topic: Great deals on new games?

Okay, so from what my experience tells me, Zavvi.com has lousy customer service. And whenever I order something expensive enough to be caught in customs, they send it through some weird package delivery company that sends me an insane bill for taxing my games, and the tax + the bill for taxing the game ends up costing more than the game itself.

Anyway, my point is that because of this I only order things from Zavvi that aren't expensive enough to be caught in customs. Which is where their great deals come in. I have yet to come across a site which has such great deals on new games that Zavvi has. It's not every new game of course, but sometimes they sell even limited editions for under £20, even as a pre-order.
Sure, I've seen insane deals on sites such as Game, but that's only after the game has been out for some time.

So, anyone know of other sites with great deals on new games? If so I would love to check them out. My budget for games is pretty limited, something I'm sure others here will identify with.

Amazon has good deals at times but it depends on what you want really, I have heard some people talk up EBAY but I have always had a fear of getting ripped off so never used it my self.

Look up the local ads (or, preferably sites like kijiji that allow people to put local listings in) and ebay.

You could also buy digitally to avoid the customs and shipping charges. Steam and GOG.com have regular sales, and they are both reliable. GOG doesn't use DRM either, so if you burn the game and extras (and whoa, the extras are awesome) to a CD/DVD it's essentially like having the boxed version of the game.

As for special editions, Steam has Digital Deluxe Editions for some games. All of GOG's games come with loads of extras like manuals, soundtracks, art books, wallpapers, avatars, etc. Good value for money there.

I often buy boxed games from Play-Asia because I usually have coupons, and the delivery charge and customs duty is zero to the country I live in (many Asian countries have free delivery from Play-Asia). They also have sales during holiday periods. Otherwise I just walk/drive to my nearest brick-and-mortar store and buy from there.

Otherwise, why are you importing games from the UK? There should be no customs charge on local deliveries. Just buy from a local game retail business which delivers to your door. Are there none in Norway so you have to buy from Zavvi?

Let's just say that Norway is an expensive country to live in, and a new copy of Continuum Shift LE, or any limited edition for that matter, bought here would give me at least 3 copies of Continuum Shift LE if bought from Zavvi.com and still leave me with enough to buy a cheap Wii game.
