One of the best amazon alternatives in the UK for gaming.
I dunno if it's gone. There's just a splashscreen up atm. They did recently transition to a new site design. Seems unlikely they'd just shut down a week later.

@Marioracer I order from the official Nintendo store. I can totally recommend it.

@GrailUK I never order from there as I have had too many games go missing or delayed for no reason.

In store you’re stuck with game, online Amazon and Shopto.net tend to be the cheapest by far.

@Bunkerneath Ow. I've never had a problem with them, although my day one Switch did get delivered to the wrong house (Royal Mail's fault.)

@GrailUK My day one switch didn't turn up for a week, I NEVER receieved my pre-order of Paper Mario:Color Splash, my pre-order of Yoshi's Wooly World, didn't turn up for a month. They don't take American Express, even though at no point does it say that until the pre-order is ready, but then they can't charge it, so my other pre-orders were delayed.
I just gave up on them after all that.

GAME, Smyths and independent game stores are it for UK physical stores I think? Not only Grainger Games is gone but so is Toys R Us.

The VERY large supermarkets MAY have Switch stuff, but any mid to low ones only stock the annual PS4 and Xbox One releases like FIFA.

HMV doesnt stock Nintendo stuff to my knowledge, tbh I dont know if they stock games or only store cards now. But their issue is who buys DVDs and Albums now?

Argos exists I suppose.

I wonder whether CEX will seize the opportunity to focus more on new releases.

Grangier Games were always good for stocking less popular games. They did a strong push on Yakuza games since number 2, esoteric Japanese RPG's and so on. But best of all were their weekly sales which changed every single sale item every Monday.

Oh crap.
I was genuinely about to buy a game from them as well. I saw they had FF3 on the DS really cheap last week but stupidly put off buying it.

Good online alternatives in the UK are thegamecollection.net and base.com.

I just prefer to stay away from Amazon. I don't think monopolies of that size are good news in the long run.
