I was comparing Bush's numbers to Congresses not Obama's (which are falling fast). As for blaming the Reps of being racist is crazy. When all the Dems ever do is put people into categories. I also think that the Reps can be rather lacking in certain areas like for one not using this time to contrast themselves against the Dems and Obama.

I rule when it comes to games. So deal with it.

I'm sure you and many other fellow Republicans aren't bad people, but I know people who recieved smear e-mails about Obama last year. I think a fringe element of the Rep party are still more upset about a black family living in the White House than they are about HC reform. They are out to destroy him every chance they get.

People like that old lady are the ones that anger me the most.

No, I'm sure some do know what they are talking about and are sincerely concerned. The problem is that people are using the meetings to push their own agenda (Fox News has their fingerprints all over it) and bus in those whose sole purpose is to disrupt the meetings. Many are looking to kick up a shitstorm with lies and misinformation and nothing more. If you oppose the bill, that's fine. But the town hall meetings are a joke.

Do you want to see the political soul mate of the old lady?:

I had heard of him but never saw the video. Clearly, he has no class. I guess at least he released that he should be ashamed of himself when he saw the cameras at the end.

The Republican Party is less popular than dog poop these days so all they can really do is scream and shout.

The smear posse for HC reform are the same people that brainwash lies about Obama's heritage to vulnerable people like this woman:

if even mccain woudn't say he's 'not american' than, well, he's not
hey, did any of you see that on lou dobbs one time, someone filling in for dobbs proved he was an american?

I love how some people choose who they're going vote for based on an anonymous, sourceless e-mail.

No, but instead I see Europeans and Canadians who seek the highest quality of healthcare the world has to offer coming to the United States to receive it.

To start off, I'm a Canadian and our health care system is great. When I needed medical help that was unavailable in Canada, because the only specialist in the field lived and worked in America, the Canadian government flew me to America, got me the help I needed, and payed for it all. The reason you see Europeans and Canadians going to the US for health care is because you have the best doctors in the world. The reason why the best doctors go America is because they know there is lots of money there for them. There really isn't any reason why private health care is better than government run health care. And don't get me started on the statistics such life expectancy and infant mortality rate.

I have a sneaky feeling, the crazy, old lady and the monkey doll man are against health care reform because they're satisfied they can't recieve mental treatment!

An interesting read. As a side note, I feel bad for the author during his grade school years (with a last name of Dunt, that had to be fun).
There are people that hate the bill, of course. People that don't want their taxes raised, fear the government, etc. The true problem is, though, the sheer amount of lies and BS that the right is force feeding into peoples minds with this issue. They're playing on their fears for their own political gain.

It's been quite amazing the British response to having their precious NHS attacked. We whinge about the service a lot, but if it was taken away from us there would be uproar, and more importantly, unnecessary deaths.

and no I did NOT return to this thread, sshhh, you didn't see me, k

I do not have an opinion yet. I am really trying to hear what each side is saying. Here in the States you got Obama fighting for it like crazy and then you got his opposition but in politics you never know who is telling the truth as to how it will end up being until its usually to late. Thats just my opinion and I maybe wrong. Also at the same time I am curious how it will turn out. I have not had health care in years and would like to have it but I am unsure as to how Govt. ran care would be. I hear horror stories from other countries on the news but I am not in those countries so I do not know what works.

If everyone had free health care then the lines to get treatment would be enormous! People from Canada for example are coming to the USA for treatment because they have to wait like 4 months for treatment because the lines are so long! Why would that be any different in America? Plus, what if you had a life threatening disease?

@ Kizzi
hospitals are already clogged, as i stated in an earlier post, people w/o health care go to the communitty hospital ER for treatment when their condition cannot be ignored, so instead of the waiting room being full, the ER is, which it really shoudn't as it is for, well, emergencies. that is also why you hear the occasional report of people dying in the ER; i hope i don't have to restate why. so isn't a more full waiting room across all hospitals (for regular treatment) under a NHS better than an ER waiting area full of people that need immediate treatment?

You would be amazed at how many of the health care advisers to Obama have ties to Eugenics. Kinda scary.
