The quality of private schools hasn't decreased because of public schools.
Does Yale have any less standards because each state has public universities? I don't think so.
The same logic should be applied here. Private and public health care can co-exist.
Under the current bill private insurance will eventually be put out of business. Because if you have a policy now you will not be able to renew it and thus be forced into the public option.
Give evidence if you're going to say something like that. Links help. Anyways this news article reinstates that if you have health insurance, you don't have to switch over to the government one. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090811/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_obama_h...

Oh, please the AP is the least credible source out there. Plus Obama does not have a health care plan. The only health care plan out there is the one that Pelosi wrote which does provide that private insurance will be phased out. Plus Obama said back in 2007 that he was all for a single payer sytsem.
The problem with all those who voted "No" is that it's safe to say that they thought it would've been a good idea to have had Sarah Palin as Vice President of the United States of America!

Dude, you're making yourself sound more and more like an idiot. Seriously. Get a grip and stick to the discussion. If you can't bring facts to back yourself up, then what - you just pull things out of thin air? Typical redirection tactics of a failing argument.
What I hear about less quality is a bit baffling. Most of the people that would benefit have no care at all. Period. Kind of hard to lessen quality from that isn't it? Unless you mean poorer people being able to recieve free health care means less quality for you (a questionable claim), which is a bit of a dick argument. And anybody who claims this is socialism gets their balls cut off by me.

A straight shooter that in it self is questionable. If you love the socialistic program why don't you go to Canada and give it a try. Then come back and tell me your thoughts on the health care debate.
As for favorite NL personalities Vedetta is quickly moving up on my charts.
The only problem I've ever had with the Canadian model, which we had here until a few years ago is the fact that it is always threatened if there is an economic meltdown or an increase of the lederly demographic, which was used as an argument to reform our health care system here.

Right there is the proof that such a system is not sustainable. At least here in America if we have a economic down turn our health care does not go with it.

Whoops, the socialism word came out! I have to decide on rusty shears or a butterknife for cutting on someones balls as per my earlier post. Socialism, huh? That seems to have become the boogeyman for the 21st century, stepping in to replace communism. I wonder if soon people in the U.S will be brought forth to testify whether they are now, or have ever been a member of socailist party. And why would I want to move to Canada to gain new perspective? I can live here where a significant chunk of the population is denied the basics of health care and get all the learning I need. How about you spend a few months in an overcrowded health clinic in an inner city and talk to the people there. Then come back and tell me your thoughts on the health care debate.
Socialism is only a step a way from Communism. The reform that Congress is proposing will end up hurting everyone. So do not come crying to me when you are old and denied a life saving treatment. As I have stated b4 I am not against true reform I am against the proposed bill in the House.

So you DO see it as some evil boogeyman. A moot point, though, as we're not discussing socialism.

Well, hell, what do you think would happen now? I can't get insurance, so I'd be denied even the most basic treatments unless I had the money. I just hope by your quote that you aren't one of those people believing the B.S about death panels deciding who lives and dies.

People who do not have insurance still can get medical attention, but with the House bill if you would actually READ it does admit to rationing. As for death panels how can they not have them with rationing in place.
NO why do you think we are so strong as a government because we don't do things like this and other stuff that other countries do authough I'm a demacradic I can't dissagree with Obama more then I already do

You chose a bold thread to start your posting around here. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The so called "death panels" are nothing but lies. Those who oppose it and are looking to whip up those confused ,uncertain and even scared about the situation. Those who use the term love the imagery , with an 80-year old begging a group of dour government officals for needed care to keep her alive only to have them raise their hands and lower their thumbs in some throwback to gladiator days. Said women I'm sure in these peoples minds is drug behind a shed and shot like a lame racehorse. They figure arguing something with no merit is easier to drum up support than the difficult taks of approaching people with the facts. You point out a single case of anyone involved in the bill mentioning anything about a death panel and I'll show you a picture of hell frozen over.
