Topic: Good Anime Forum? (No Haters Allowed)

Just asking if anybody knows of or frequents any good Anime-centric forums, so I can stop spamming the anime threads in this and the other two forums about shows nobody cares about. I've tried a few, but They all ended up being mostly dead.

oban star racers, what ever happened to that tv series. i wish they continued with that one.

Eh, I stopped going there (mainly cause I'm not that into anime, lol)...but I used to go to AnimeCrazy. I think it's .net, can't remember...but yeah, lol. If you do go there, tell everyone I said hey. xD

Well it's not like anyone else has helped. Anime forums tend to be full of degenerate scum anyway, so it's not like I could actually direct you to a good one. (Barring one I used to admin, but that's long since closed and didn't focus on just anime.)

If you're fine with a bunch of jerks and elitist snobs, not to mention the occasional moron, [adult swim] has a pretty good anime forum (and a few folders dedicated solely to anime that airs on their block [Bleach, FMA: Brotherhood, Kekkaishi, etc.])...

I'm sorry you no longer care for anime and feel that those who frequent anime forums are somehow scum, but I'm afraid you'll have to take it up somewhere else, since this isn't the place to discuss that. There's definitely some elitists who can ruin things, but the overall quality and INTELLIGENCE displayed is really good. You've got your R1 topics, R2/import topics, pretty much something for every "kind" of anime fan there is. I think.

I like knowing everyone who posts there and stuff, and people actually comment on an episodic basis rather than entire series. But if you need a super active forum with loads of anime lovers, just head over to the aforementioned AnimeNewsNetwork, MyAnimeList or indeed any other big anime website. Kind of depends on what you're looking for though; I'm personally more focused on experimental and intellectual anime (so-called seinen and josei) which are best discussed on a mature blog rather than a forum with loads of 12 year old "Narutards" IMO. Yes, I am a little jaded about the anime community, but hey at least I answered the question at hand.

Yes, the smaller communities are the best ones. You usually don't get the raving fanboys/fangirls in those, whom tend to bring down my opinion of anime fans (though not anime itself). Since interest in anime has exploded in the west, particularly with shonen series like Naruto and Bleach that attract very young fans, these better communities tend to be pretty difficult to find. I guess you knew that already since you had to ask about it.

tealovertoma pretty much gave the best summary of my thoughts on the matter, though I don't actively participate in anime communities anymore. I could have told you some really good anime forums if you had asked 5-10 years ago, but they're all gone now. I never thought anime fandom would turn out to be so fleeting among its older fans. :/

@HolyMackerel: idk if it's 'fleeting' so much as it's the fact that a lot of us have grown up now and have other responsibilities. i remember the days i'd gleefully buy anime and gundam models and pins and toys and all kinds of crap without a thought about how much it cost me, but now i have to be much more careful with my purchases. I also don't have the time to sit around in front of the TV and watch whatever passes for Toonami anymore, lol. those were the days~
