I thought the second sentence of this quote was just plain wrong....although there have been many bad entries in the Mana franchise, Secret of Mana for the SNES and VC has never gotten a bad review.
"There have been a lot of entries in the 'Secret of Mana' series, even though many of the titles don't have anything to do with 'secrets'. The sad thing is, there really isn't much in the way of a fantastic entry in the franchise. Even the best entries seem to be plagued with some pretty big issues. Still, there's a reason why people remember the series, and I'm sure we haven't seen the last of it."

I think Secret of Mana on the SNES is great, and Seiken Densetsu 3, only available in Japan or through a fan translation, is even better. Now pretty much all of the other releases have been fairly mediocre, though.
Plain old gamer :)

I didn't really enjoy Secret of Mana either but I don't think I gave it enough time. I'll have to play it again eventually.

They did not say they did not like it. They said there has not been a fantastic game in the series. Thats like me saying the movie the Wrestler is not fantastic but yet it was decent.

Hmmm true. I just can't imagine anyone not thinking highly of Secret of Mana I guess

Just because you love a game does not mean everyone has to. I personally never liked Secret of Mana and yes I have played it.
