I am currently looking to make let's plays in the future and I own the Dazzle DVC100 capture device. I don't want to upgrade because I'll mostly be recording consoles from the Wii and later. I was wondering...how would one go about removing the black boarders when recording (not using the YouTube tag method)? I can't afford Sony Vegas, so is there an alternative free video editor I could use?
I've been using Movie Maker...haven't messed with editing that much, though. And I never had black borders/bars in my recordings at all, so I dunno. :c

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I don't know much about dazzle, but if you using a recording software such as OBS, you can crop your recording screen easily. That or add a cool layout on the black edges.
When I was recording my Xbox and Splatoon I was using a very outdated game capture off ebay (wouldn't recommend, it sucks and lasted a month) and never had this issue.
