Well, like many german fellows said before me, this sudden, false patriotism and interest for footbal / soccers is almost unbearable.
Suddenly, everyone and their mother must have a national flag on their window, balcony, car, baby buggy etc. And once the event is over, they forget what our flag looks like as quick as they became "dedicated football fans" -.-

Dont get me wrong, i dont want our team to loose for the sake of our players. But the "fans" are what makes the whole thing so embarassing.

And when it comes to skill....well, lets say i saw tip kick games with more player activity.

one of the problems i have with this event is that people who have never been interested in football and have no clue about it suddenly watch all games of the german team. of course only the games of the german team because they are not interested in the sport itself but in the patriotic party. this is so annoying to me because i really love football and played it for many many years.
and then the people shout "SIEG SIEG!" which means "victory victory" and it sounds so much like stuff from the nationalsocialist times in germany a few decades ago. you can even see some old german reich flags in between the patriotic party crowd. people also use super stereotypicall phrases for other countries teams. or they even say that they hate them. i dont know if you can imagine that if you dont live in germany.
in the meantime politicians in germany usually use football world cups to pass new laws that even the super lethargic germans would protest against.

that's why i hope the german team will loose so this stuff can finally stop. because it always stops when they loose and the world cup goes to an end.

I agree insofar, as that the Fifa is full of b*s* when it comes to racism. They don't care and certainly take no meaningful measures to fight it during related events or in the stadiums. Their actions speak louder than their words .... by a loooonnngggg shot.

Putting that aside the rest of your statement is unfortunately uttely tainted by ignorance. You make it sound like the word "Sieg" ("victory") should be banned from the German language or at least from public use ... If we are not allowed to cheer for our soccer team and celebrate publicly when they are indeed victorious we are in really deep trouble. I don't think that needs any further explanation as the implications are clear as day and nothing short of utterly horrifying for us, the World and certainly for Europe.

Even if you had a valid argument here, which you do not have, your solution to just have the German team loose and leave the tournament is, and this is also utterly obvious so I don't even know why I'm pointing this out, not a solution at all. Maybe it is a very short-term stop-gap measure to fight the SYMPTOMS of a problem you seem to be alluding to. A German failure at the world cup will do diddly squat to solve the "problem" of nationalism and racism in Germany, honestly the very idea is mind-boggling.

And to bring this to an end, it won't solve the problem in Germany, it won't solve it in the U.K., it won't solve it in Russia .... and any other nation under the sun that is troubled by nationalism and racism. You think we Germans have any exclusive right to those terrible issues ... even in soccer we don't. There are nationalist soccer "fans" (just to forgo any misunderstandings, those ultras don't give a love about soccer as far as I'm concerned) in parts of Eastern Europe that would make many of their German counterparts green with nationalist and racist (this does not always go hand in hand, and is not synonymous) envy. This isn't to relativize the problem (only insofar as you made it sound like it is basically 1933 again here ... with makes me sick to be honest, since it basically ridicules all the victims of the N.S. power grab) but to show that your approach cannot work, except if you are willing to ban any team from any nation whose fans are not 100% free of subversion of people trying to push a political agenda.

I didn't fully understand why you are so pissed at people getting excited for a sport they were not previously excited for, "only" because the worlds' biggest sport event is currently taking place and they kinda get "swept up" with it. Seems like a rather natural, common and temporary phenomenon. But like I said, I don't really get your beef here, so I can't really comment any further.

I see you are also a big opponent of short-term and rather spontaneous excitement and jubilation by a people so deeply tainted and eternally forsaken like the Germans. Well kudos, how very "German" of you ... about time somebody fought for the resurgence of the German "Weltschmerz" ... I mean ... we .. alll .. miss ... that .. (apparently).
