If we're talking Webcomics, then Invisible Bread is a really good one.

There are new comics every Tuesday and Thursday, and they are clean, but yet really funny!

All types of non-Manga/Manwa comics, actually, but yes that does include Webcomics. I actually read a few of the most recent Invisible Bread strips, and it seems nice enough. I really like the one where all the people are staring at the dude walking his dog.

I enjoy reading the Sonic Archie Comics, they're a lot better than any animated series, and the humor is done perfectly.

I loved the old Archie Sonic Comics, but I feel like after a while, the story in the series got really convoluted. I can't really read the newer ones, since I have no clue what's going on in them anymore...

I've had the random urge to read super hero comics lately. For instance, I read a bit of Deadpool today, the first issue of the second 1994 series. Probably not the best jumping point, though, since I felt like I was in the middle of a story arc, but it wasn't too hard to follow. Overall, I liked it. The comedy consisted mostly of quick-fire one-liners, and there was more violence than story, but that can be highly entertaining, as it was here. I think I'll continuewith this series if I can keep up the momentum.

Other super hero comics I intend to try sooner than later:

Iron Man (if there's a reboot)
Spider-Man (Mostly just reading old ones I got)
Rocket Racoon (if I can find it...)
Squirrel Girl (If I can find it, too...)
Mega Man
Darkstalkers
Transformers (If I can figure out which series to start with...)
Sonic (Just the old ones)

You need some DC in that list mane.

Picked up the first season of the Amelia cole series as well as the issue one of season two which started today.

I also picked up the first issue of Artful Daggers which has an intresting premise. A time Traveler goes to the middle ages and gives the people technology. In the next 50 years traditional kingdoms are replaced with corporations.

Favorite Games: Sonic CD, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland, and Call of Duty: Black Ops, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, and Mega Man 5.

Ugh, I can't make heads or tails of the Iron Man series. Where does it start and where does it end? I thought there was a reboot at somepoint...

Anyways, I think I found a good starting point - the beginning of the Etremis storyline...hey wait a minute, that sounds familiar...

@Sony_70

I've been thinking about it, but DC's usually more serious, last I checked. I prefer my comics to be more "fun", you know? I mean hell, I'm having trouble getting into this Iron Man comic, since it seems like it's trying too hard to be serious, though it's the beginning of a major story arc, so I guess it's trying to impress.

Iron Man is a serious comic. It's not as good now as when Fraction was writing it, but it's trying to keep the same tone that he established during his run.

The Extremis arc is a good a place to begin.

As for where Iron Man "starts"?

I know it's serious, but the tone established here was almost depressing, kinda like what I'd expect from Batman. I was expecting a good mix of lighter fair as well, but so far I'm not seeing it...

When I was a kid, I came up with a concept I called "Kat Kid".

It was about a kid who was the star of his karate class, who after an incident in a labratory (his father being a scientist, usually too busy for his family), he gains cat like reflexes, speed, balance, stealth, senses, and razor sharp claws.

He then finds himself using his new talents in conjunction with his martial arts expertise to clean up the streets (eventually using a battle staff as well, being forced to use a metal pipe as a weapon during an altercation, realizing he has a knack for it).

He eventually finds himself at odds with a corrupt corporation (or government organisation), that wants to unlock the secret to his abilities. At this point, his tech savy friend helps him out by hacking computers & giving him helpful gadgets that eccentuate his abilities (such as smoke bombs that can help with a stealth element).

Eventually, there would be others with abilities, that he would have to contend with in some way (I never got this far in planning it).

I imagined him having a fighting style that was kind of a mix between kid Goku (martial arts, and staff) & Spider-Man (with the way he can move his body, and sense danger). Although there would be some differences (like the claws), and limitations that the characters he was influenced by don't have (no way to fly, or zip around the air).

I know this probably sounds silly to all of you, but hey, as I don't have any artistic talent whatsoever, any of you who make your own comics can run with it, if you'd like

Hmm, haven't commented on comics since I dropped my 80+ title file to around 10 last year. Found the Dark Horse series "Colder" to be a pleasant suprise, in fact one of my favorite comics in years. All the Valiant stuff has been very impressive for the most part. Also enjoyed "The Answer" from Darkhorse and Image's "East meets West" has been fun. Other wise I just read a lot of Avatar comics i.e. Crossed, Uber, Stitched, Ferals. It is funny I find this thread on the eve of me selling 60+ long boxes. Makes me a little sad to part with my collection of 20+ years (most of it at least), it's kinda become a part of me. But sadly the passion for the medium has mostly gone and I'm sick of renting out a garage sized storage to store them. Oops, I'm rambling. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. Maybe I'll peek in periodically to see what's happening.

Gotta catch them... eh, nevermind.

The new Marvel Now deadpool series is pretty cool. I wouldn't call it the best place to start comics.

Most of the Marvel Now or DC New 52 series are good places to start. I'd reccomend

Now that I think about it, Deadpool blatantly references other Marvel stuff. I still liked it despite not knowing those references and guest characters, but I can see why it wouldn't be the best place to start.

Yeah, but i really dont care about that.I really cant start anywhere else because, thats the only comic character i find interesting.

I go to Comixology to find the Rocket Raccoon comics, and I see them in the new and noteworthy section. Apparently they were released only recently. I feel like I have psychic powers or something. Maybe I'll get my own comic book?

BTW, I really need to check out the comics people keep mentioning. I haven't read much in a while...

I did finally start reading Homestuck...I think. The site's a bit confusing, and I'm not sure if what I'm reading is the comic or a side project. It's been about a guy who apparently lives inside a video game? Or just lives life like a video game? Both? Maybe I should read a little more...it's been entertaining at least, so that's good.

Speaking of comics I should be reading, I'll bring up Twokinds. Maybe it's because I went into it expecting total garbage, but what little I've read if it so far has impressed me, especially when I read a bit of the later strips, which got pretty heavy.

Comixology is having a sale on Fables so that would be a good place to start.

So far my pull list is looking like this.

Archie
Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic Universe

Dark Horse
Halo Escalation

DC
Batman Beyond 2.0
Green Arrow
Justice League Beyond
Smallville

Image
Black Science

Vergito
Coffin Hill

Plus adding the new She-hulk book that starts next year.
