My complaints:

  • Their staff are a bunch of a-holes.
  • Their stores are as dirty as hell.
  • Their "new" games aren't new. They're technically used.
  • Their prices are ripoffs.

Screw GameStop. Target and Best Buy are the best for new games, and I have a local game store that rules for used games.

I don't think my GameStops are that bad, actually. Most of the staff is nice and it's clean, their games actually have the clear wrap around the new ones, and everything in my opinion is pretty reasonably priced.

Not my GameStop. They have shelves with sleeved new games they put in the box after you bring it to them off the shelf.

I honestly think it's different depending on which store you go to.

Quite right man. I have 4 Gamestops near me. 2 of which I like, and 2 of which I don't. One of the ones I like is a Babbage's. The other one, is very clean and has an amazing selection, so yes, it DEFINITELY depends on the store. The one's I go to are fine.

Remember: They are SUPPOSED to get you to pre-order things! It's part of their job, so don't hate em for it, unless they were real a-holes about it.

Here's a good one: I was at one Gamestop and this was last month. Since no one else was around I decided to break the silence by asking him "Have you seen the e3 conferences?" He looked at me puzzled and didn't even say a word.

Once I bought deBlob, which kied my wii, I got another disk and the guy said it may be the shipment and if that didnt work, he would let me get a different game, Then it didnt work I came back and the guy said I cant get a different game. They woudnt even give me a refund. And thenI spent 80 dollars to get my Wii fixed. Another time they gave me an empty box of Excitebots and wouldnt et me get it replaced till the next day in their night shift since the guys in the next day wouldnt believe me. One not so big, the guy tried to make me preorder Metroid Prime: the other M

My brother bought an X-Box 360 and, due to a lack of cash, an original X-box game to play on it. The problem? They didn't bother to tell us that the game wasn't backwards compatible. When we came back to trade it in and complain about them not telling us. But instead the cashier raised a fuss (apparently her boyfirend had two X-boxes, and that's somehow is reason enough to explain why it's not their fault that they didn't inform us that the game we were buying would not work with the $300 console we were buying in the same purchase).

Eventually, we were able to trade the game for equal amount of credit and purchased two BC games, but the hours of crap we had to deal with made it almost not worth it.

It wasn't pushed back five times, though. The staff are still at fault.

Not really. The shifting dates are probably what they were fed from Gamestop HQ.

I agree with all of those but the dirty part. I don't think I've seen one that is actually dirty.

Ugh. HQ is what makes Gamestop horrible to me

I bought a used copy of TimeSplitters 2 there and it was broken. I was able to get it to work, but a few days later my Wii's disc drive broke, probably due to a the really scratched disc.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not possible. I'm not saying your Wii didn't develop a fault but I can't see how a scratched disc could cause it.
