Topic: Gamestop Woes

Anyone else have a problem with Gamestop? Funny story, I recentley ordered Conker Live and Reloaded (never played bad fur day) from their site. They first sent me a broken disc, I complained, then they send me a demo disc, complained, another demo disc, complained again, broken disc! I gave up and ordered the game from Amazon. Anyone else want to share their gamestop woes.

I preordered Super Smash Bros Brawl at one Gamestop. The manager there told me that I will be able to use it anywhere as long as I provide a phone number of the Gamestop I preordered it at. Now I try to get the game at another Gamestop and the employee there told me that I could not use the preorder because I didn't get it there. I complained to the manager and he said the complete opposite of the first one: "You have to get it here to use it here." I bought the game anyway since they had some. So I wasted $50 on a preorder, at least until I told the first manager. Luckily since we were buds for a while, he gave me a refund on it and I preordered another game. So it ended well but I was still mad at the second Gamestop.

The fact that the staff are dumber than door-nails about Wii/DS games.

I think that's because they could care less about the Wii. Most of the staff are probably xbox fanboys

Thanks for the thread, now I'm mad at Gamestop for not making regulations that are constant with every store!

I bought a used copy of TimeSplitters 2 there and it was broken. I was able to get it to work, but a few days later my Wii's disc drive broke, probably due to a the really scratched disc.

@irken More like doornail heads! I pre-ordered Scribblenauts at this GameStop and the guy was acting like it was some dumb game nobody had ever heard of. He also had no idea about the pre-order bonus when it was clearly mentioned on their site. Then, when I inquired about NSMB Wii and Metroid Prime Trilogy, he started talking about how good those games were going to be (mostly as an insult to Scribblenauts), and then tried to get me to pre-order Metroid: Other M, when it doesn't come out for a year and is of questionable quality at this point. Oh, well. Sigh

I agree, I go to Game Crazy anyway much better service!

Your welcome, somebody had to do it I've vowed to stay as far away from that place for as long as I live. No good customer service and the policy they have there is just terrible. (staff are also xbox fanboys)

We preordered brawl. They told us to come Feb. 5. We came, they said come back Feb. 10. WE came, they said come back March 4. We waited almost a month, then they said come back March 9, which would be while we were on Spring Break. So, we got it a month and 12 days after they originally told us it would come out. Kinda sucks, huh?

Brawl was delayed for March 9, 2008 in the USA. They couldn't give you the game since it wasn't released yet.

Isn't that because the date kept getting pushed back? The game was finally released on March 9

It wasn't pushed back five times, though. The staff are still at fault.

I haven't got any yet. Luckily there is a guy in my Gamestop that likes all kinds of games. I usually like buying things from him more.
