Topic: Games You Want To See As Movies

You know, I saw the trailor for that movie, and all I could think of was how it was a generic fps plotline.

Yikes actually I'd rather not see any of my favorite video games made into movies. Hollywood has a tendency to ruin most of them. Look at Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

I thought the original Mortal Kombat was pretty decent. The second (Annihiliation?) stunk of rotten skunks. The soundtracks for both were phenomenal though!

I was also gonna suggest Leisure Suit Larry, but Jay beat me to it.

What about the plot falling apart at the end? Good game, but the last third was a bit off.

the third act did get all kinds of crazy. I want a sequel to that more then i want Heavy Rain. The screwed up future where the purple clan wins would be awesome.

But an Elite Beat Agents movie would be brilliant. And it would be better than High School Musical that's for sure.

the sad thing is that fans do a better job at making Video game movies than big Hollywood studios.

I think a Zelda movie would be horrible.

I think Elite Beat Agents would be best as a TV show.

As for movies, I got nothing. But for anime, I'd like to see Okami, Metroid (not a action-heavy anime, but an atmospheric one), and some RPGs like FF and Chrono Trigger.

@V8: Chrono Trigger feels made for anime... and it is so much like DBZ. the beginning is pretty fun, lighthearted, and quirky for the most part, like DB, the middle is action heavy but follows a linear story line like DBZ, and the end is all over the place, time hopping and questing the same way they're planet hopping and questing in DBGT.

and i agree with RWP: a LoZ movie would be terrible.

Any Zelda game, I don't care which, just MAKE ONE!!!!!!

haha, i really just think it would be tough to make it come out well. especially since link doesn't talk. and i'm not saying he should or shouldn't, just that he doesn't, and would have to in a movie, which would probably ruin it for me.

on another note, i still think fire emblem would make for a great movie. if you're not convinced (it's probably because you haven't played either of the radiance games, but) here's a trailer, and you just tell me that wouldn't be epic in live action.

Think about it this way. Link walking around in a huge field alone, attacking a bulbin once every five minutes. Possibly a loud "HEY LISTEN" every two minutes. Then he goes into a cave and solves puzzles. It would be boring. The game series is absolutely awesome, but a movie would be horrible.

Make a Sonic animated movie like this (without the werehog, Chip, and other junk) and Sega just might have one of the best animated movies ever

Agreed. And what would link be silent during the entire movie? Link speaking at all in the movie would just ruin it.

DBZ and Chrono Trigger's graphical style were both designed by Akira Torijama, so it would work brilliantly.

And I have no idea why I forgot to mention Monkey Island. That might just be the single most adaptable game ever created.
