Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The presentation in this game ultimately killed off most of my desire to return to it. In the original, the galaxies are set up on orbit paths in a celestial system. In Galaxy 2, they're thrown on a bland yellow connect the dots on a randomly chosen cosmic looking background. Also, I didn't really care for the game's checkpoint system. Throwing in the flags from the New series felt out of place here. It almost feels as if the game wasn't sure of itself, stuck on Galaxy but seemingly laying down foundation for Super Mario 3D Land. The nix of most story aspects, when the original had the touching Rosalina storybook standing out, wasn't a trait of Super Mario Galaxy 2 I appreciated.

Super Mario 3D World - As of this release, I'm not too sure if I can trust Nintendo's console 3D Mario offerings. The issue I have with Super Mario 3D World is again its inept attention to presentation. The whole design of the game's worlds are random levels set on random slabs with random backgrounds. There's hardly a cohesive aspect to find with the game's presentation besides the fact that it's consistently random. I like Super Mario 3D Land much more just for the fact that they didn't waste effort to completely butcher the game's presentation. Then there's the feeling that the game is more designed for multiplayer than for single player experience, the latter as far as co-op is concerned is an aspect that hardly ends up carrying a game for me. I have yet to give 3D World its second chance as I've done with Galaxy 2, so my opinion may turn around.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - I might have played TTYD when I was too young, because before the end of Chapter 2 I had already gotten a guide to help me progress through the game. More than a decade later, I haven't done much with the game beyond that initial completion with a guide. There are aspects of the game I do like, mainly its settings, story and bosses, but other than that it falls very flat for me. My concern regarding replaying the game now is that my previously slow experience making my way through the game's huge number of puzzles may repeat itself too much to really enjoy the game. I'm at a point where longer games, unless they're really solid, won't do a thing for me given the limited free time I now have working full time.

Pushmo - I'll just say to begin with that it sucks that the game's puzzles weren't all murals. Whenever Pushmo moved out of the murals, the game drained me more as my brain wasn't working just to a solution but also pass the presentation slide. In non-mural sections, Pushmo became a chore. In more advanced difficulties, it became too much for me and I ended up being on/off with the game a lot. Whenever I started up Pushmo at that point, I generally was able to beat the puzzle that had stumped me months before and then go on to complete like the next two. After that, I immediately hit another wall. I'm not overly fond of an experience that brings me up then quickly makes me feel completely dumb. I don't have the desire to beat the game.

Can't get into Street Fighter 4 all that well. Give me Marvel vs. Capcom or Smash Bros anyday.

Borderlands is another one I couldn't click with. I felt like I was going in circles and doing the same things every time.
