Played Goldeneye 64 today and all I can say is wow. What are some games you have played that just haven't held up so well?

Really? I'm a COD fan, and I still think COD 4 is an incredible game. Pretty much all of my friends that got Modern Warfare 3 said they liked Modern Warfare 2 more, as do I. I don't understand where you're coming from.

@moo moo well I can't say where I'm coming from, because that would give you my address, but everyone in my town seems to hate the older COD games once the new one is out

Except COD IS on Nintendo consoles :P same with angry birds and ACIII, and my most wanted non Nintendo games are: RE5, RE6, Lolipop Chainsaw, MGS4, MGSPW, and Bayonetta 1. So IDK how I'm a fanboy, when I hate those games that I could buy anytime (well after Nov 18) also I like 007 Golden Eye on wii, and I hate Rayman(another Nintendo platform game)

I'm aware of that. I just like punching giant holes in his already swiss cheese-like logic ;). Seriously, COD isn't a series that gets old by his logic. If it got old according to him, then the current game would feel old to the players because COD doesn't change from game to game (his logic, not mine.) But the players seem to buy and enjoy the newest game if it isn't Modern Warfare 3, so... yeah.

I agree with you completely. I hate some games even though I can buy them, but I love rayman

Isn't that thread for Virtual Console games, rather than games as a whole?

Based on the comments within the thread, that doesn't seem to be the case.

If PlayStation was on the VC no doubt we'd all have our own huge list of clunky games.

There's confusion on what should be talked about, so maybe this thread should exist simply to not confuse people? That thread is in the VC section, so it'd be natural to talk about VC games alone there. There's enough justification for this thread being created.

Anyways, some games that haven't stood the test of time for me have been Final Fantasy 1, Rayman 2 and Sonic Adventure 1/2. Actually, most Sonic games just haven't aged that well, to be honest.

Super Mario Land. I'm sure it was a novelty when it first came out (playing a full Mario adventure on the go), but it has "early GB title" written all over it.

At times it's hard to believe that SML2 was released on the same hardware (it almost seems next gen in comparison to the first).

Super Metroid (Wii VC)
the King of Fighters XIII (360)
Legend of the River King GBC (3DS VC)

I personally find the first one far superior. SML2's levels were boring and it didn't help that it was very easy! While SML was easy, it at least had good levels.. ;-)

EDIT: I find that most old sports games are the worst for aging. It's nearly impossible to play Madden on my n64!

Crash Bandicoot and all the PS1 3D Platformers that came before the PS controller had an analog stick. I really loved Crash Bandicoot as a kid, I hope Crash 3 will fare better when I'll get it on PSN.
