That's weird. I didn't sense a difficulty spike at all in Radiant Historia. Maybe you're not using the right strategy?
It's pretty easy to be under leveled for that fight, since most of the enemies you face before it all had pretty annoying attacks, and the jump in stats between the last area is higher than all the previous ones, atleast it seemed like that to me anyways, and it might cause you to try and bypass the enemies, so it's not hard to be under leveled for that fight.
For me, the difficulty spike in Ch. 4 wasn't so much about leveling as it was strategy. You can kinda coast through the first three chapters on automatic, but in Ch. 4 they start throwing enemies at you that'll take you down with a quickness if you aren't actually strategizing at all even if you're at or above-level. Poisoning your enemies works wonders in RH though, and pushing enemies around into Aht's traps or a powerful blast from Stocke or Raynie is good times. work your combos :3

Mega Man Zero 1-3. They're great games gameplay-wise, but the difficulty is beyond frustrating. It's punishing mechanics don't help in that regard.
Isn't that kinda a paradox? :3
I don't consider the difficulty part of the gameplay. Sort of why I think people shouldn't be mentiong games that are ruined by controls or other gameplay mechanics that create frustration for other reasons. In this case, the difficulty is all in the level design. The "Punishing mechanics" are all in the scoring system and the way you get new powers. The gameplay is solid. I just wish it was in a less frustrating game.

Yeah, I was a pretty big fan of Aht too. I used her for pretty much the entire time after I aquired her. Maybe that's why I didn't find the game too difficult.

Ah, ok. That clears a lot up.
But I'm still a tad foggy on whether or not you consider it broken. :3

SNES version of Super mario world. The controls are just broken compared to the GBA. I know B to jump and Y for feature is better on SNES, and I understand that.
But ever get to the Super famicom world, and have to use mario's spin jump to break blocks? Try running with Y AND pressing A. It's almost impossible. They should have mapped jump to Y and run to B.

Wel, I knew how I needed to win, it wasn't to hard to figure out what hurt it and what didn't, (Although I didn't try Posioning.) the problem was that Rosche was getting KO'ed in 4 hits by the mooks that you could encounter just before it,(Having them come in packs of +5 didn't help either.) and them outspeeding all of my party, by quite a bit. That's when I knew I had a problem...
For me, there are quite a few... But I'll only list 2 here.
Super Real Darwin is ridiculous, stuff just flooding the screen and just trying to avoid them will cause you to fly into something else.
And don't get me started on the damn ground forces.
And Magician Lord, damn Magician Lord to hell.
Enemies spawning everywhere, super frogs that will just not die and a time limit kill.
Damn I'm pissed just thinking about the other games with major difficulty issues.
Majora's Mask. I know all you guys have beaten it, but i have played that game every 2 years or so, hoping that sitting on it would help, only to rage quit after staring at epona through the farm, or chasing down the stupid kids.

Angry Video Game Nerd. In one of his videos he talks about Batman games. When he got to Batman Forever, he basically said the same thing you said.. Which made me wonder if you watch him..

Ruined by too much or not enough difficulty? For the latter, Luigi's Mansion. It's bad enough the game's extremely short for semi justified reasons (hey, a single mansion can't really be too much bigger), but it's also pretty damn easy too. It's a great game, it's just that you end up completing it on the same day you bought it, which doesn't feel much like good value.
As for games ruined by too much difficulty... apart from the standard stuff people like the Angry Video Game Nerd tear apart, I'd say a couple of Mario fan games come into this category. One of them had single pixel block jumping in the SECOND level, which is kind of extreme for a difficulty curve. Another had the unfortunate combination of bad physics, no save points in the entire first world and levels that were both twice or three times as long as those in Super Mario World yet about ten times harder. As you may have guessed, I didn't get very far, especially when there was a tendency to get stuck in the walls and ceiling.
