Okay, time for mine:
Crash Bandicoot: Failed after it strayed from being a 2-D Platformer.
Final Fantasy: Everything after FFX was less than sub-par.
Mortal Kombat: Hoping that the new Mortal Kombat game will fix all of the fail that was Armageddon.
Jak & Daxter: Stick to platforming, guys. Racing and aviating should be left to other series.
Tony Hawk: Stopped innovating after American Wasteland.
Grand Theft Auto I gave up on it after Vice City. They aimed more for realism than fun.

@holymackerel:Good Lord, I couldn't agree with you more.

Bomberman is the only series I could think about right now. I, basically stoped careing about that series after the N64 titles.

.... or something like that.

Mario because they need to make a game based on SMB3 with Kuriboh's shoe, the suits and the sun

The last 3? I think you miscounted

No. TP, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks

So what happened to Four Swords Adventures and Minish Cap?

Agreed. The MK looks to bring back the days of MK old...before the great fall.

Send me the best you've got. Send me your strongest machines. The fight my brother fought, here, now, will end with me.

Final Fantasy:
Everything after IX was pitifully easy and the characters in X, X-2, and XII were so damn annoying (even though X had a great story ruined by how stupid and draining the characters were). XII at least had some difficult battles but X was a complete joke, even the strongest creatures in the game were a cakewalk.

Call of Duty:
2 and 4 were great. Everything else, not so much

Unreal Tournament:
UT2004 was arguably the greatest multiplayer PC FPS ever. Then (Gears of) Unreal Tournament III came out and crapped all over the greatness that was 2004... turning the fast shooter into a slow heap of dung.

Those ones came before TP.

Sounds like somebody needs to play the Mega Man Zero and ZX series.

  • Pokemon: I still enjoy playing them, but I often lose interest before I even get to the Pokemon League anymore. They really need to change up the formula.
  • Grand Theft Auto: On one hand, i loved china Town Wars, on the other hand, I wasn't impressed with GTA 4. Rockstar has forgotten that the GTA game are supposed to be over the top and crazy. GTA 4 almost completely lacked any form of levity and took it's self way too seriously.
  • Guitar Hero: What happened to that one? Activision happened.
  • Katamari: This is a game that never should have had a sequel. Crazy fun, creative as hell, didn't need another one.
  • Tony Hawk: Activision again

let's see here....

I can do better than a game series--entire subgenre I used to like - RTS.

No idea why. The entire genre is just such an absolute bore--Starcraft 2 entertained me for exactly 25 minutes. So glad I didn't pay money for it before trying it out.

Click here! Watch things happen. Owait! Click here! Watch things happen. Spam hotkey! Watch things happen. Click here!

I just never feel like I'm playing anything...just feels like I'm watching tiny crap shoot tiny crap at other tiny crap. And this comes from someone who's beaten damn-near every old console RPG ever.

On that topic:

Phantasy Star. I thought these games were cool-looking as a kid (only owned NES/Super NES, so had Dragon Warrior/FF) and I was pissed that I couldn't play them...then I got 4 via the wonders of emulation as a teen and it was kinda cool!

For the first third of the game...until I realized the dungeons are soulless and the pattern gets really stale. Then I tried the previous three....good god. So awful, unbalanced, and just generally bad.

Then I tried Online--meh...and didn't age well. Then I tried Zero. Like online....but worse and with less to do. I think it's safe to say I can completely write that series off. I completely avoided the Portable series for good reason--I have a friend who owns the first one for PSP. He described it as "Crisis Core without the game, the music or the cutscenes" Kinda sums up my feelings on Monster Hunter as a whole too.

I kinda liked Sonic as a kid too (same forbidden fruit reasoning as Phantasy Star), but boy have those feelings changed as I've grown up.
