Oh yeah, I TOTALLY forgot Resident Evil. In my opinion, 5 was really mediocre, but I still like the older entries. (thankfully)

I believe mine would possibly be the Animal Crossing series. The first and second games were the most thoroughly addictive and enjoyable little time killers ever made, but the "Same ol same, but this time with bad villager programming!" of the Wii version sort of sucked my soul out for the series. I hope the 3DS version will change that, but I'm not counting on it to be too likely.
Pokemon- I've grown out of it and every game is extremely similar to a previous one and while i don't like it anymore I have to admit that some polemon look cool but each generation the pokemon have been becoming more and more stupid Spyro- The earlier spyro games weren'r as good as some say they were but they were still good games but the series has gone downhill since then.
I agree with you dudes you are sick of Zelda. It's really tragically sad, because Zelda was my all time favorite franchise. I drove 100 miles to a Costco in Salinas and waited in line for 3 hours just to get my hands on Twilight Princess on the Wii's launch day. The games are too easy now, the exploration is limited, the side quests and bonus items are pretty much non-existant (TP's rupee eating magical armor was just insulting). Everything I loved about the series in the 8bit and 16bit days is being whittled away. I even played Skyward Sword at E3 and was not impressed at all.
I'm glad I missed out on Metroid as a youngen (my first game was Prime). I've been having a blast playing thru the series, and it has secured the spot for my new favorite franchise.
Well, Zelda desperately needs some innovation. After Wind Waker something went wrong. (Although I LOVE Phantom Hourglass)

Well, the conclusion is that only Twilight Princess was mediocre. I do like Minish Cap, but I prefer Link's Awakening. And I thought Spirit Tracks was good too.

And I still do. But they've been totally idle for a number of years now. And have so much potential to continue, too. So many games are getting sequelised out of their ears, while these lesser-known, in-demand classics seem to be benched permanently. (The Parasite Eve mobile game doesn't count!) Maybe they're biding their time for the right developers and time... I suppose I'd rather no release than a bad release.

@Ninten Eh. Wind Waker was pretty disappointing to me, and, while I played the crap out of it in middle school, I never liked Ocarina as much as A Link to The Past. Same problems I described above. Pretty much the only non-required item was the Goron Sword. Oh yeah, and bottles. Yay. Majora's Mask was great tho. Can't front on that one.
@Mickeymac aw, dude. Don't bring that up. I'm so pissed Parasite Eve 3 is a PSP game. A freaking PSP game...
Zelda needs to show some character. And with Skyward Sword coming up, I believe character has been reestablished. Kinda
I think Zelda has always showed plenty of character. Maybe not character evolution, but at the very least the characters are well established, likeable, and memorable.

What's wrong with it being on the PSP? Plenty of games have already had new installments on handhelds that have proven to hold up just as well, if not more than their console counterparts. This especially rings true for the PSP, which has loads of great, console quality (if there's even such thing, which I don't feel there is) games. Don't knock it until you try it, especially since you know nothing about it. There's still a pretty good chance it could turn out great, maybe even better than the first two games, so long as its handled right.
It's simple. Parasite Eve is one of my all time favorite franchises, and I don't own a PSP. I'm not knocking the game, it looks incredible. Seems to be a similar combat system to the 2nd game, which I liked a lot more than the 1st mostly for that reason. Stopping myself from rambling, it looks perfect for a die hard Parasite Eve fan. And I don't get to play it. WAAAAAAAAAH
