Topic: Game of the Year Predictions

Well, predictions for Game of the Year? I know there's not really a single place that can say, "This game is the game of the year", but hell, let's just predict it.

My Prediction:
Scribblenauts. All the hands-ons with the game have been awesome. I mean, killing death with an atom bomb? EPIC win. The game is extremely innovative, and the amount of effort already put into the game is amazing. Clearly the developers love the game, and are very proud of it.

Bit early aint it? But I have heard good things about this game.

Dragon Master Spell Caster

Uncharted 2 has a solid chance.

@Locke+Cole: It makes it all the more fun.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade should be excellent. I remember Odin Sphere being very good, but not great. Hopefully Muramasa improves upon the Odin Sphere formula and achieves greatness.

Yeah its going to be something from sony or microsoft.

seriously when was the last time a nintendo game got game of the year

Mario Galaxy the year before last.

But yeah this year they got nothin' so it will definitely be from Sony or Microsoft, and if not multiplatform, likely Sony.

Super Mario Kart (VC)

If we're talking about what the best game of the year will be, I couldn't say. Hopefully the next Professor Layton, or New Super Mario Bros. Wii looks good.

If you mean "what will win a GOTY award?" I'd stake every single bloody thing I own on Modern Warfare 2 stealing every award that has ever been made, and then some.

For me, the best game that has come out so far is Punch Out Wii, followed by Excitebots.

Well if I were picking the Game of the Year, it would definitely be The Legendary Starfy. LOL

But I'd never bet on a Super Mario title, so I'm going to say New Super Mario Bros. sneaks in at the last minute.

I doubt it. Have they announced anything about the game that makes it anything other than a cash-in, cookie-cutter sequel? I think people will like it, but I don't see how they can improve on the original formula that much.

Football Manager 2009 scoops awards here like there's no tomorrow, and I bet Madden does the same over there, and they're both "cookie-cutter" sequels. The fact they haven't announced anything that big about the game isn't surprising considering it's out in November, though. Sales-wise it'll beat everything and I can guarantee it'll win stacks of awards. Sadly.

Hope that Scribblenauts wins the GOTY adward.

Its a little early but so far I gotta go with Little King's Story or Muramasa: The Demon Blade on Wii and Dragon Quest IX or Scribblenauts on DS.

EDIT: If I have to pick only one though I would definitely have to say Little King's Story!

Seriouly, my choice is probably Scribbllenauts. ope Layton 2 is good though.

And Zelda Twilight Princess got GOTY in 2006.
