Agree about Mass Effect though - probably the most boring RPG ever.
Yeah I didn't understand why it got such great reviews and even got nominated from multiple gaming sites for GOTY?

Infinity Ward. I think Treyarch are better than them due to the fact that Treyarch can actually make good FPSs on Wii when IW cannot and are not even going to tempt to. Laziness.
I seen some people put Epic Games and I couldn't agree more! Unreal games were very dull when compared to many other FPSs on other consoles and the graphics ran on the choppy Unreal Engine bleh! Other than that Gears of War is not as great as everyone makes it out to be and I mean come on, I don't want to play a TPS using strategy to take down my foes, then being chainsawed by a 10 year old (and the guns suck too). Very overrated.

It is your immature and ignorant to many on this site and in reality this topic is meant for opinions and opinions only, yet you probably omitted that fact. Most of that post is opinions and in my opinion that Mass Effect is boring and is all around bull. And I do love RPG's my friend just look at my name: Chrono Cross. It's an RPG for the PS1.
Treyarch are better than IW in my opinion because they can do something no other developer out there can do on the Wii with such great quality. Yet it seemed you omitted that fact too.
Also the point of Treyarch along with Vicarious visions this gen was to work on the separate wii version of games. This bothers me too. Vicarous didn't make any version of any game on Wii, yet. Dead Space Extraction is a prequel to EA's Dead Space for 360/PS3.
Valve - All of their games seem really incredible and interesting...until I actually play them. They're never as fun as I thought they would be, and they always have some glaring, crippling flaw that I can never get around. Except for Portal of course, although it was too short.
Rare - I'll admit, they have a lot of good games, but none that are truly great, IMO. I just don't see how they got their legendary status.
High Voltage Software - For hyping up their mediocre, imitative games. Left4Dead for the Wii, _Halo/Half-Life for the Wii, Tempest with a Twist. None of them are bad, but they're all average at best. Although I suppose I should respect a company that can market their games so well. I'm just glad their games still don't do well despite the hype.
Funny how many of Bioware's haters base their dislike on their more...experimental works, instead of their more beloved classics, like Buldar's Gate, KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, or my personal favorite, MDK2.
It's kinda hard to reinvent games that are supposed to simulate actual sports that haven't changed in over 50 to 100 years. IMO, they do a pretty good job of improving their games with more options, tweaked, usually improved simulations, and an updated roster. Most of the ones I've played are quailty games for what they are. If you hate EA Sports because none of their games appeal to you, or don't like that they've driven out some of the competition("Exclusivity rights", anyone?), or just don't like how they play, that's fine, man. I'd be right there with you. But don't fool yourself into thinking they're just releasing the same damn game every year.
Treyarch-Activision needs to use them for something other than shooters, 'cause they suck at making them. They should stick with Infinity Ward for their shooters. Epic Games-I hated Gears of War.
Except without Treyarch, Infinity Ward wouldn't have the development time needed to keep up with that level of quality.
And Epic games made a helluva lot more than just Gears of War. You at least gotta try the Unreal Tournament/Championship(I'll send you a demo of UT2004 if I have to) games before you say you don't like them.(almost mentioned Shadow Complex, but Epic only published it )

Also what does Vicarious Visions an Activision owned company have to do with a EA property
1: You didn't bother to read and evaluate my post before posting. And I bet you've done the same thing before on this site. Most people that do that, do it often. 2: Good you should respect everyone's opinions on this site and no it does not deserve the reviews it got. It's dull, boring, and repetitive (all of which is my opinion). 3: Obviously.

Microsoft-I actually like Microsoft and the 360, but they stole RARE from us. Boohoo. EA- It just seems that a lot of their games are low-effort wastes of money.

Bioware- They make ridiculously lame RPGs. Two examples are Mass Effect and Sonic and the Dark Brotherhood (which was a waste of not only my money but my time as well), and they're considered to some people, "legendary" which is above over-credited.

EA- They snap up every small(er) developer they can get their hands on, and constantly con suckers out of their money with daily sports sequels.
Activision- They make one overrated series that becomes popular with the mainstream, and then literally beat it to death. It's what happened to Tony Hawk, and I'm sure 'ol Guitar Hero/Rock Band won't be too far behind.

I'd have to say Sonic Team ranks top. For destroying my favourite game character (from the distant distant past)... anyone who can do that deserves to be hated.
Sega and Sonic Team- I used to like them, but they are horrible these days. Anybody who says they are better than Nintendo are nuts. Sonic Unleashed, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Sonic 2006: garbage.

(In response to) EA- Well, you have to give them props for publishing some great titles. Like Extraction, and Henry Hatsworth. Activision- I agree except for the Rockband part. Activision has nothing to do with the Rockband series, they only own Guitar Hero. High Voltage- You say the titles always end up being crap. How can you base 'always' from just one title? Maybe they'll turn it around with the Grinder, who knows?

Oh, and why can't we say what new companies we do like? My vote is Wayforward, or Gaijin games.
I think the problem is non-RPG people hear about how popular Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest is, and buy one of the games, expecting it to have some kind of mass appeal.
In reality they're pretty hardcore RPGs, so of course they end up disappointed.
It's like hating puzzle games, and then buying Tetris and expecting to enjoy it.
