LOL I just got banned at Gamasutra merely because I pointed out how naive the editor of that site, Kris Graft, was when he questioned the CEO of Ubisoft about supporting the Wii U.

Basically, Kris asked the Ubisoft CEO this:

Ubisoft is known for investing in new platforms very early. You did that with the Nintendo Wii and DS, and that did very well for you for awhile. And then I think you guys were surprised when the bottom fell out of it so fast

Well, the CEO had to correct Kris Graft by mentioning that right NOW they are very successful on the Wii mainly due to Just Dance - Which according to recent NPD data, was only the #1 videogame OVERALL in the US for this year (2011). Beating out anything the PS3 or 360 had to offer this year. The CEO also mentioned that at present 45% of their business is currently invested on the Wii.

I simply pointed out to Kris, that the CEO had to corect him. And also that he looked very naive by not having considered the massive success Ubisoft had on the Wii all year . And Ubisoft's success is something that is happening right NOW (not 3-4 years ago when it was a so-called fad). Its a current thing. Thus why his question (which I added here) looks kinda silly.

So it was kinda naive of the editor to forget the success Ubisoft had on the Wii both with Just Dance franchise and the Michael Jackson game. I pointed that to the Editor. Not making fun or him or mocking him either. Just informing him about the facts. I also had added a couple of sales lists that showed how the Wii still sells software in 2011 - the year when it was suppose to be dead. Making it clear that the Wii is still out there selling at the same pace as the competition (more or less).

Anyway, Gamasutra's editor didn't like me making him look naive or silly and he banned me. Plus deleted every single post I had made there.

And honestly, I think that Gamasutra's Kris should grow a thicker skin and stop being so touchy about other users opinions - his readers - (I told him so too) if he is going to publish articles online. He should expect people to comment on his writings and even give him some criticism now and then. Well he disagreed and banned me anyway. LOL

Anyway, just wanted to warn anyone that if you decide to post a comment on an article written by Kris Graft, that you should only compliment him and not make him look silly or naive. Or else!

Gamasutra is an industry site. It's not for children to go on and play at being trolls. That's why you got banned.

I know this will end up seeming a bit...ironic or hypocritical but...who cares? You got banned from a gaming site...so...so what?

also it has 7 comments so I guess no one cares what he wrote anyway.

ITT: OP makes fun of staff on another site, gets banned. I fail to see the issue — like us here at NL, I'm sure they work too hard to pump out content for their userbase to put up with people who only want to poke fun at their staff.

There's a difference between 'constructive criticism' and 'trolling'. Maybe someday you'll realize where you went wrong.

See, you two simply don't get it. You don't get why Gamasutra's editor banned me. It wasn't because as you claim, I was trolling. Nope.

Gamasutra is an industry site that boasts to be the Bible of the gaming industry. One that makes public numbers, charts and informs about how well software and hardware sales are going. They do that every day.

And yet - Read carefully kids - the EDITOR of Gamasutra came off sounding like a freakin' n00b when he told THE ONLY 3RD PARTY DEV ON THE WII TO BE HUGELY SUCCESSFUL ON SAID CONSOLE (Ubisoft), about the floor being pulled under them. Because according to the editor - Kris Graft - the Wii stopped being profitable after only a few years on the market. And yet, all the data contradicts the editors view on the matter. The very CEO of Ubisoft had to correct the editor in chief of GAMASUTRA. Informing him on stuff that HE SHOULD'VE KNOWN as the head of such an industry gaming site.

Kris Graft should've known that Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 was the # 1 title OVERALL in the US and that sold beyond 10 million copies. I mean, Gamasutra's contributor Mike Rose had previously published that very info on the site.

Kris Graft should've known that he was talking to Ubisoft - a company that did what no other company could - make a profit on the Wii. Not just in the era when it was considered a fad (back in 2006-2008) but also profitable for them NOW. In 2011. When Just Dance 2 and 3 are pulling in the cash by the millions.

So I simply pointed that out to the editor. I told him that it was naive of him to forget all that when talking to Ubisoft. If he was talking to another dev, then sure it would apply to them. But saying that the Wii was a sinking ship to Ubisoft was SILLY. Because it just isn't a sinking ship to Ubisoft. And the CEO of the company had to make that clear to the editor.

And because I POINTED THAT OUT, the editor banned me. Because I made it look bad in front of the readership. I mean, how could the head honcho of Gamasutra forget how successful Ubisoft was and IS on the Wii?

So it wasn't me trolling or breaking the TOS at Gamasutra. The editor there simply hated a user making him look silly and naive.

No offense, but I can see why he didn't want to put up with you. Please take your condescension elsewhere.
