@HawkeyeWii: you're new to Futurama, so I'll give you a hint: Seymour's fate has already been revisited. Keep watching through the show, you'll find out. Netflix has all the episodes through the first half of [what Netflix is calling] Season 9 if you're having to catch repeats on Comedy Central or something.

That said, Jurassic Bark is the only episode of Futurama in my Netflix that doesn't have a 'you've watched this already' red bar beneath it. I saw that episode once, and it was enough for me. Even knowing what I know happens afterward, I still can't go back and watch that episode. I wonder if they truly realize how awfully, depressingly poignant it was for many of us — an excellent episode to watch once, and once only.

Luck of the Fryish being one of my favorites too, along with the Late Philip J. Fry (had a mix of sadness ending quickly with the whole time machine goofiness. xD) and Sting.

Sting was another kinda teary-eyed one... not near enough Bender for me, though. My absolute favorite episode of Futurama (barring the latter half of Season 7/9, which hasn't hit Netflix yet) is The Route of All Evil... it's so focused on the kids hitting their dads where it hurts and has that great b-plot with Fry, Leela, and Bender, i love it :3

Jurassic Bark and Luck of the Fryrish as usually trotted out as examples of well this show handles real emotion. And rightly so.

...but surely I can't be the only one who tears up at the end of Time Keeps on Slipping?

@Phil: Regarding Jurassic Bark, Luck of the Fryrish, and Sting, the deaths (or near-deaths as the case may be) and the elaborate focus on them kinda helped to jab that knife into my heart. It was all A-plot material. Granted, the focus was a bit indirect in the former two, but Sting directly revolved around a death, so... yeah. As for Time Keeps on Slipping, no one died, and we didn't even really get to see Fry struggle to do whatever it was he did to win Leela's heart, just the aftermath and his subsequent attempts to figure out the puzzle. It definitely sucked for Fry in the end, but there is/was still hope for his relationship with Leela after that point, and plus that was all was more an accompaniment to the A-plot in that episode.

To be honest, I think I felt more emotion for Fry in Parasites Lost than i did in Time Keeps on Slipping, and that's not really saying much — my sadness for him is when he finds out that Leela only loves him for what he's become and not for who he is. That's a terrible sort of realization to have to come to.

I do usually tear up a bit for Fry in The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings, though. All that work for nothing, everyone else storms out, and still Leela wants to hear how it ended.

Minor "subject change" (...the whole sadness topic, lol), but...what's up with The Bots and the Bees being in 4:3? (seems kinda random since the rest of the episodes in that season is widescreen)

I think everyone at some point should see Jurassic Bark.
Also it is great to see so many people here on NL that like, or are interested in Futurama.

Man all this talk and now I am going to have to dig out my Futurama DVDs.

That series along with BtAS are probably my most watched series on DVD. I still need to get the seasons that were on CC cause I stopped buying them after the fourth movie mainly cause of my money situation.

As for Jurassic Bark I have seen that one a few times and it hits me but not as hard as my son. I can't watch that one with my son in the room cause he just busts out the waterworks with that one. Still it just shows you how great the writing is in that one.

Luck of the Fryish is another one of my favorites the only thing is after I see that one I have to watch The Breakfast Club right after it or vice versa. Lol

I think we should change the thread name to the Futurama Fan Club thread or something like that.

Personally my favorite episode is the one where Leela finally finds her parents, those little flashbacks of her childhood make me tear up just knowing that even though her parents could not be with her they did their best to take her of her.
EDIT: also this was one of those perfect examples that show how the show's storyline was actually going somewhere which is another reason I liked it. (I guess that's the main reason I don't like the Simpsons that and besides the fact that it just not funny).

Now I'm just kind of in this "...I'm ok" state. xD

I know me too! I couldn't believe the ending, it just had me sitting there like, so.... when is the episode actually ending? After the commercial break right?? And then I saw the credits and I'm like... oh....
