After an incredible day of football, starting with Man U winning the title (again - sigh) and ending with Newcastle in serious relegation worries, I was just wondering what teams people support on here?
I love to watch and to play (haven't played in years, unfortunately; not exactly a popular sport here), but I never really got into the whole fan thing of preferring one team to another. Of course, not enough games are broadcast in America for me to really cultivate an opinion anyway. I just watch whatever I can.
Yeah, unfortunately the only decent football coverage here in the US happens when the World Cup comes around. The US's major league is pretty pitiful. ... I'm definitely looking forward to next summer.
I'm a big Werder Bremen fan. Also it looks as though Wolfsburg will win the bundesliga after Bayern Munich draw 2-2 against Hoffenheim. But, in the Premier league I like Liverpool. Here are my predictions: UEFA Champions League - Manchester United UEFA Cup - Werder Bremen UEFA U-17 - Germany Any body else have predictions?
Where do you think Tevez will end up? I reckon he'll join Mascherano at Liverpool, but I think he'd be ideal at Man City. They certainly can afford him, and he'd fit into a Hughes side very well with his work rate.
Can we turn this into a general footie talk thread?
CowLaunch, if Tevez ends up anywhere than Man U next season, I will be very very suprised. I reckon Its just his dodgy agent thats holding up the deal. 25mil I've heard... (but who are they buying him from? West Ham wont be getting any of that cash) ... Man U arn't gonna let themselves get held to ransom, but Tevez wont want to play anywhere else (in England)
Man Utd have a good track record of letting players go when the time is right, the difference is that they actually owned all those players. The World Cup is coming up, and Tevez just isn't going to get the games needed at Man Utd. I think Wellbeck could be good enough to fill the 4th striker role. I certainly think Tevez is worth more Berbatov, although I don't buy the idea that Berbatov is another Veron, he will come good, but I'm not sure he's worth losing Tevez for.
Tevez has stated he wants to stay in the UK, as his family is settled here. Man utd have said they are only spending around £30mil max in this transfer window, which would leave them with little change if they spent this on Tevez. Man utd currently have enough strikers + with Wellbeck and Machida coming up through the ranks they will probably choose to spend this money strengthening other area's. I think Tevez will go to Liverpool who need another striker, or Man City with their sheiks fortune burning a hole in his pocket.
Well the Premier League is now finished for another season ending with Newcastle, Middlesbrough and West Brom all getting relegated. I honestly couldn't have predicted that at the start of the season - everyone seemed to have written Hull City off from the start so I'm quite amazed they've managed to stay up. Feel bad for the Geordies, though - not saying they deserved to stay up, they clearly didn't as they simply didn't have enough points, but I can understand how their fans must feel and relegation is never a good feeling.
It's about time Newcastle were relegated, their fans have had wildly unrealistic expectations for years. I hope they finally get their club sorted out, but I won't have any sleepless nights if they don't.
My club is Liverpool, hometown club. Prediction: Liverpool to win the Premier League, possibly get to the Champions League Final.
Also did anyone else see Spain get beat 2-0 by the USA? I couldn't believe it, knew it would happen by 75mins though, same thing happenese to Liverpool countless times the past 2 seasons: 10-20 shots, 0 goals, opponent shoots once or twice only, and scores.

Premier League. Aiming for our 19th title to finally shut the scousers up. And I want revenge on Barcelona in the Champions League final, it's at Real Madrid's 'stadium' and Ronaldo (the turncoat, that could've been a Utd legend, waaagh) would be forced to watch.
UNITED!!
ps. I'll be starting the NintendoLife fantasy football league closer to the time.
