Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars for the SNES. I liked it, but I had rented it from the video store from time to time, and never beat it back then because of that (either having to restart everytime I rented it, or just try and continue off from wherever the last player got to). I finally did finish it years later on Wii VC.
The first I ever beat was either Pokémon Blue (GB) or Paper Mario (N64).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
7th Saga, NA version, which i found out much later in life was one of the hardest most unbalanced RPG's in history. Me and my brother beat it though, it took forever and we got stuck a couple times because we didn't grind enough (some guys were just too hard, especially competing rune gatherer's). Great game but i'm sure a more reasonable balancing would have made it even better. Shortly after i played Mario RPG, my favorite RPG game probably, and FF II as i believe it was called then (the one with Cecil where you go to the center of the earth then the moon) and since then i haven't played very many (not counting action RPG's like Zelda) as after a while i found random battles get boring. Oh and i also beat Pokemon Red, it's the only one i've played but as kids we loved that game, and i still remember trying to fight MewTwo in that stupid cave at the end.
Well, I guess my firsts were Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Gold.
My first traditional RPG though was Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time which was also the first RPG I actually beat.
Phantasie on the Commodore 64 in the mid 80s. I spent so much time on that series. I lost interest for the RPG genre for a while, then Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast brought me back and it has been my favorite genre again since.
i think mine was tlotr the third age i cannot be 100% certain but, that game is awesome. I'm probably the only one who played that game lol
I played it and hated it. One of the worst console RPG experiences I've ever had. Battles every few steps that dragged on for several minutes each because of excruciatingly long animation sequences. Absolutely dreadful pacing.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Illusion of Time, wasn't a good first experience with RPG's. Second try, but with Secret of Evermore was better. Terranigma was 'third time's a charm'.

I guess your talking about Illusion of Gaia? What was diffrent about this action RPG compared to your others?
The Megaman Battle Network series is underrated... I think, don't quote me on this.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
My first RPG is Pokemon. I used to watch the show, then my brother got a Game Boy Color with Pokemon Blue. We didn't understand WTH was going on, but I still found it interesting, and my brother didn't play it. Then I got Pokemon Yellow and we were excited about everything Pokemon. We got Pokemon Puzzle Leauge, just because it had Pokemon in the title.
