Topic: Fears and Phobias

Quick! Anybody here have Venustraphobia? Look it up in the link in my previous post if you can't tell/don't know what it is.

For the record, I don't expect anybody does, and if you do, I'm very sorry for posting this joke.

Polyphobia- Fear of many things.
Ideophobia- Fear of ideas.
Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.

EDIT: Venustraphobia- Fear of beautiful women.

Where do I begin? The dark, spiders, heights, etc. And I'm claustrophobic
My brother is afraid of germs, my mom looked it up online. She said it wasn't germaphobia, it was somethin' else.
I can't remember what it was. She wrote it down in some notebook. I'll try to find it and I'll come back and tell you.

@Terranigma: It doesn't say the smells are BAD, mind you. If you had osmophobia, the smell of fresh cookies could freak you out!

@Terranigma: Me as well kinda... Dark (kinda), spiders, snakes, occasional chain mail, big words, open spaces, claustrophobia.

I meant that you didn't bother to search just now and confirm instead of just asking "wasn't it an album?"

EDIT: Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia- Fear of long words. CRAZY STUFF! Referring to the fact that it IS a long word, not to insult minial100.

What's osmaphobia, Terranigma?

I have a weird phobia of going to the hairdresser's, i now just shave my own hair, apart from that nothing freaks me out.

I checked out the list (thanks Stuffgamer1), and thankfully I don't have any phobias. I'll still steer clear of spiders though, but its more out of respect than irrational fear really XD

Having said that, I love flying and for some reason I love turbulance. No really! But then again, I think I'm a little crazy

For all of you suffering from phobias, why not try and beat that fear? I'm a little socially awkward, so this week I'll talk to random people

@JohnnyB: You're socially awkward, so you're going to fix that by intentionally starting awkward conversations with strangers?

I have made progress with my acrophobia, actually. Used to be I couldn't get past the SECOND step on the ladder at work! To be fair, it's a rickety ladder, but still...

hieghts is a tall order for me, although, i do love a good rollercoaster.
also, i dislike reptiles.

I hopr noone here has hippopottomonstroususpedaliophobia (the fear of long words)

I'm afraid of riding on a plane, since it's not a person I know that's taking control of it and riding it, and you never know if the weather is bad and wants to mess up your life or a strange group of arabian dudes taking down the plane. I know it's weird.
Oh and I'm also afraid of Chicken Brutus's new avatar.

I've been freaked uit by heights since I was a kid.

As for political/ideological fears, organized religion freaks me out.

My brother has also recently developed Aphiphobia.

Heights which got even worse when I fell off a 20ft ladder. Water always have been since I cannot swim and I nearly drowned when I was a kid which made it even worse. Being electrocuted (not revealing that story)
