Champion Cynthia's Battle theme from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platnium really gives you the feeling this is the decisive battle of your life. [youtube:whX6TVUDF-E]
This song really goes well with the stage that it's in. The first time I played it, my jaw dropped.
@WaveBoy: Not to sound like an obnoxious know-it-all, but The Woah Zone took place after the Francis battle. In fact, Francis was in World 3, while The Woah Zone was in World 4.
Cybernoid II Theme (Commodore 64) [youtube:skXQAXpN0As] Even better than the theme from the first game which I think I already posted somewhere. I could listen to this one all day.
Mega Turrican- Stage 1-1 (Genesis/Mega Drive) [youtube:xdY4EKAcW4Q] My second favorite rendition of this track. The SNES's rendition pales in comparison but the Amiga's version is even better.
Already posted this in the VVVVVV section, but it's so good it deserves a re-posting. [youtube:E99qxCMb05g&feature=related]
“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” - "Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them."
This song came to mind, aftrer hearing that. [youtube:p1ksPXxKmG8]

The first sixty-eight seconds of this song is what makes it great. Man, what a neat title theme this underrated and obscure game has (it's followed by a bit of ambience). The Follin Brothers sure knew their stuff when it came to video game music. Again, I'm not really enamoured with Europe's choice of this game's box art
I think I've come to the conclusion myself that MegaMan 2 has the greatest soundtrack of all time, but people have probably posted songs from that one a million times here, so here's something from Sonic 2,
