That's a lofty title to give to any game, IMO, and one that should always be taken with mountains of salt.

I'm sure back in the day I would've called Ocarina of Time "the best game ever", but after play Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, and even A Link To The Past and Majora's Mask, I honestly feel that it's been long surpassed.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Without this game, there would be no Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, or any of the handheld games. Its the game that revolutionized the series, not "Ocarina of Time" like what most people have been saying. What OoT mostly did was showing that a series from the 2D era can be done on a 3D console, unlike what happend to some other games (Castlevania and Megaman for example).

It's gonna sound cliche of me to say this, but, my favorite Zelda game is The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

I am StarBoy91, and I love all things 16-bit =)

I don't know that I could choose. I'll say Phantom Hourglass, just because no-one's mentioned it yet and I'm replaying it in anticipation of Spirit Tracks.

What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!

I've beaten Phantom Hourglass about 20 times now.

Ocarina of Time is still the best one.

Majora's Mask was interesting and had the best storytelling by far, but the time limit and losing your items if you went back in time got incredibly annoying after a while. I prefer the more epic and relaxed gameplay of Ocarina of Time.

Link to the Past. Hands down.

Plain old gamer :)

I'm probably alone in saying this but I enjoyed both the sailing in Wind Waker and going back to The Temple of the Ocean King in Phantom Hourglass.
However my favourite title would have to be Majora's Mask. I thought Ocarina was the best game ever and then Majora's Mask came along and bested that. Not even Twilight Princess has been able to knock Majora's Mask off it's pedestal of 'FATEM's Favourite Zelda Game Ever'

No-one can hear Bohemian Rhapsody without singing along.

OoT. Enjoying playing PH in anticipation of ST. I actually like PH better than Wind Waker, because of the way they do the sailing. Much less tedious.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

For the sake of listing em all:

1. Ocarina of Time
2. A Link to the Past
3. The Wind Waker
4. Phantom Hourglass
5. Twilight Princess
6. Majora's Mask
7. The Legend of Zelda
8. The Minish Cap
9. Link's Awakening
10. Oracle of Ages
11. Four Swords Adventures
12. Adventure of Link

I haven't got any friends who have ALttP/Four Swords, too so I haven't tried that one yet. I only played a little bit of Oracle of Seasons, not enough to have an opinion about it.
