Josh 'Homme' is also a member/collaborator with a band called Eagles of Death Metal that is pretty good too. I just saw QOTSA again a couple weeks ago and by the middle of the concert I had worked my way up to the very front of the stage and was just 15 feet away from him. Awesome experience.
@Beetlejuice
That's amazing that you were at a QOTSA concert! That's one I've yet to experience
And....Yes, I've got the first two Eagles of Death Metal albums........ Peace Love Death Metal and Death By Sexy (not sure how many they made but these are both fun albums to listen too!)
A good friend of mine, she turned me on to ALL of the music you guys mentioned 10 years ago or so (she's a huuuuuge Josh Homme fan).
Great music!!!
To this day, my inspiration for wanting to learn how to play Stealer's Wheel's Stuck in the Middle on guitar first began with hearing the Eagles of Death Metal's cover of it...Stuck in the Metal!!!
Ya the show was great (also saw Them Crooked Vultures a few years back in Toronto, which Josh said at the time was the largest audience they had played for) but have yet to see Eagles of Death Metal! There is actually a club in Toronto called Cherry Cola's that is owned by a girl who is good friends with Jesse Hughes, lead singer of EODM, so there is kind of a local connection with them I guess haha.
The 3rd EODM album is called Heart On and is very good too, but more 'professional' sounding than the first two. They are hopefully going to be releasing a new album sometime next year too, as some tracks have been recorded already according to what I have read.
What guitar do you have? How long have you been playing?
If your'e talking about rock music, though I prefer punk and pop punk such as yellowcard, sum 41, green day, something corporate, never shout never, all time low, cartel, and alister.
