Hated Genre, beloved game
FPS: Bioshock (any of them)

Beloved Genre, Hated game
Fighting: Tied between Soul Calibur 5 and Tekken 6 (Tekken I understand because I never liked the series, but SC was my jam and 5 was painful for me)

Smash does have a tut though. Not a tut that's like, test and try after then move on to the next step, but it has a tut video that gives newcomers a general idea. Then you go into practice mode and diddle around. Sure it would be great if a game had a tut that put you in situations and then you chose one for the best outcome. But most fighting games are kinda like Street Fighters inputs. So fighters kinda think you played one, you played 'em all, but CanisWolfred is right though. Some games give some advanced techniques and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is also one. The missions section teach you combo's and then after practice and memory. You realize how it works and becomes second nature. Just like Skull Girlz. Oh and someone taking advantage of me never happens. They only play better me through skill and techniques and that doesn't mean I lose track of myself or my character.

Preach it.

Ugh, what a disaster. Such fond memories of SC2, 3, and even 4. On the plus side SC5 is the game that made me branch out and try other fighters.

Yeah, Prince of Persia 2008 really rubbed me the wrong way, too. It had some ideas that were interesting on paper, but it just wound up being a mess...

And I spent $5 and 1 hour on Soul Calibur 5 and I can't understate how much I want a refund on both those things...

DISLIKE GENRE
Traditional Fighting Games: Dead or Alive. Any of them, really. I love the Rock-Paper-Scissors nature of the fighting system and the fluidity of the character movements, as opposed to the combo-heavy fighting systems and stiff movements of most other fighters.

Match-3 Puzzle Games: Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Amazing how such a boring casual game genre can become so addictive when some light RPG elements are added to it.

DISLIKE GAMES IN FAVORED GENRES

Japanese Role-Playing Games: Kingdom Hearts. Awful game with clunky controls, boring, repetitive fights, completely uninteresting characters, and glacial pacing.

Side-scrolling Action Games: Vectorman. Never enjoyed this game. It's atrocious from a visual design perspective, has a brutal level of difficulty, controls weird, and is only notable for apeing (get it?) the visual style of the Donkey Kong Country games. Every time I try it, I drop it in disgust a few minutes later.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SD)

CanisWolfred

Vectorman on easy is way more fun than on normal, IMO. It's also one of those games that get better as it goes. It actually has a lot of variety to it.

I'll do this again, because it's fun.

Disliked genre: Rhythm games
Liked game: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. Maybe because I just like the music so much anyway, but I was surprised at how varied the gameplay and charming its presentation was.

Liked genre: Fighting games
Disliked series: Mortal Kombat. As far as mechanics go, it's pretty vanilla. Beyond that though, there's excessive palette swap characters, bland characters in general, ridiculous over-the-top violence for the sake of being edgy, and terrible art, character, and stage designs. Some of the ugliest games ever made.

Like Genre: Fighters.

Disliked game: Capcom Fighting Evolution. recycled ancient stone age sprites, generic music, a bare bones presentation, boring gameplay. Probably the worst crossover game i played.

Dislike Genre: Simulation racers.

Liked game: Gran Turismo...well at least i did kind of enjoyed playing it for a while at some friends house. Not something i would buy and keep playing though.

Dislike Genre: FPS
Liked game: Goldeneye 007 Wii
Pretty fun game, and being a fan of the movies also helps.

Liked Genre: JRPG,
Disliked game: Final Fantasy X-2
I hated Final Fantasy X-2, the characters were annoying, soundtrack was generic J-pop, and plot was terrible.
