Topic: Favorite Cartoons based on a videogame?

Even though most of them are really cheesy I admit I watched a few of them. The super Mario bros super show was kinda fun. As well as Captain N and the Mega man TV series. I've never really seen many of the Zelda shows but wanted to out of curiousity.
The cartoons were often better than several game based movies that have come out.
Which shows did you like best?

Ha I just found the complete season of those Mario bros shows on Netflix! I might watch a few just for laughs. Good times.
I miss being a kid.

Sonic SatAM was one of few video game-based western cartoons I could stomach. It was awesome.

There are a few Japanese shows which were good too. I also loved Pokemon as a kid but I only watched it until the start of the Johto Journeys. The Street Fighter II animated movie was another good show. Power Stone was also great. I'm sure there are more.

Sonic X, Kirby, Pokemon, and that F Zero anime they canceled after like, 10 episodes.

I always liked the Zelda Cartoon that would come on every Friday on the Super Mario Super Show. In fact I have the whole series on DVD.

Earthworm Jim was funny as hell. :3

Yeah Earthworm Jim was a good one too. I was surprised when I found out his voice was the same guy who does Homer Simpson. That man is hillarious!

He also replaced Robin Williams as the Genie's voice in Return of Jafar and the Aladdin cartoon series when Disney and Robin WIlliams had their little tift.

I couldn't think of a better substitute for williams. You could hardly tell the difference. At least I couldn't.
He did a great job.
Doesn't he also voice the Genie in the Kingdom hearts games?

@Link79: you can tell the difference between the two easily, especially after he starts warming up to the role during the Aladdin saturday-morning cartoon, i think — he kinda started making Genie his own, which isn't a bad thing, but his voice isn't as liquid and smooth as Robin Williams', not by a long shot.

anyway, he's pretty much done all voicework for Genie ever since he replaced Robin Williams, plus he's Scarface in The Batman, he did Earl for Cow and Chicken, and he was Megavolt in Darkwing Duck. the man's done a lot of voicework over the years, lol. :3

It's been a while since I saw return of Jafar. I might be forgetting what Genie's voice sounded like in that one. Still it could have been way off but the voice work was well done anyway. I used to watch Darkwing duck all the time.

@Link79: he actually wasn't a bad duplicate in Return of Jafar i think because he was trying to match Robin Williams still. Early on in the Aladdin SatAM series he wasn't bad either as i recall — again, trying to match Robin — and to be honest, he's never a 'bad' Genie, it's just that as he grew into the role, he stopped trying to match Robin quite so hard, so you can hear the differences easier. :3

@Link79: I believe he did the Genie's voice in Kingdom Hearts but I am not sure on that. It wouldnt surprise me if they did get him instead of Williams for the game since hes probably cheaper and more available for stuff like that than Williams would be. The only ones I know that Williams did the voice of Genie was Aladdin and Aladdin and the King of Thieves.

BTW the guys name is Dan Castellaneta and TBD is correct in that he has done alot of voices lol. Along with Homer he also does Barneys voice and Grandpa Simpsos and the Robot Devil in Futurama as well as Dr Emmit Brown in the Back to the Future cartoon series.

The only ones I like are the Kanto and Johto seasons of Pokemon.

I'm sorry, but I must disagree about you saying that the Johto season was good. The ONLY good season was Kanto. That's it.
