Just wondering if anyone has had any success selling games on Craigslist. I'm thinking about posting a few on there.

I never have, but heard recently about a gamer meeting up with someone that put up an ad about selling a cheap PS3 at a Best Buy parking lot after hours and getting robbed. At least he didn't get hurt even though he was a bit naive. What games are you selling, if they're rare, it might be better to post them up on eBay.

Nope. I sell my stolen goods the old-fashioned way--in a sketchy white van outside electronics stores. I give great deals on magically-documented surround sound systems with brand names you've never heard of.

I have thought about selling on Ebay just because it's safer. But if I sold on Craigslist I would only meet up in a public place during daylight hours. I'm not selling anything really rare, I just bought a couple of copies of the Mortal Kombat Kollection for PS2 for really cheap, thought I would try and make a little cash.

@sykotek
I heard about that from Hard News on screwattack. There was another incident recently on the news involving craigslist. Apparently a bogus ad on craigslist led to the sexual assault of an 18 year old woman. Here's the link if you want to know more: http://www.wfsb.com/news/23061473/detail.html. I would just stick with Ebay or use other safer means if you're trying to sell something. However, paypal can be just as bad. Someone hacked into my dad's paypal account and tried to buy a couple of things. Thankfully, they caught the person, but it was a really big hassle.

@Viper6391: Sadly, that is not the first time I've heard of that happening, now that I think about it, I remember another assault that was caused by someone's ex-boyfriend posting a fake ad and someone else doing the same thing, it was a few months back I think. So, you visit Screwattack also huh? I used to visit that site all the time and GT, the top 10s were great and after Handsome Tom left I visited the site even more, the interns seemed to contribute a lot to that site. It was great when they started adding all these shows. Hard News started off pretty lame in my opinion and just grew on me. For some reason or another I stopped visiting the site. I think I need to go watch some Hard News.

I sold my TV through Craigslist before i moved last year. I'd been skeptical that it'd sell at the price i was asking for it, but sure enough i had someone interested the next day and they came over that night to pick it up. it was pretty awesome.

Just be smart about it, y'know? schedule meetups in broad daylight, don't go alone to pick something up, make sure you've got your cell phone, and only take as much money as you'll need to purchase the item. and if it sounds like too much of a good deal, it probably is.

I've sold a few things on Craiglist. For me, it's much easier (and quicker) than ebay.

It's also a great place to rent a hooker.

Has nothing to do with the thread, but oh well:

Why not try a game-trading site like Goozex? It's now my preferred way to get new games and trade in old ones. I've made over 70 trades and never had a serious problem.
