I'm not a huge reader, and my folks want to encourage me. I liked an Ian Rankin book I was reading, so on Christmas I got a 3-in-1 Ian Rankin book. That actually isn't bad, since that's in addition with my other stuff, but then the next day, when we had our party with our whole family, I was getting 2 presents (and one is ALWAYS a shirt with some money, so there was only one surprise present ). I was very disappointed... 3 MORE Ian Rankin books. (Plus some chocolate )
Of course, I said thank you, put em on my shelf, and maybe I'll find time to read them all.

even at 18.5" it won't make a big difference from SD to HD. Really, until you go past 20" it won't make a huge difference. Still, the HD will look better than your SD, so you just have to decide between a crisp picture, and a large screen. Just so you know though, it won't make a difference until you buy some component cables for your wii. Otherwise, the picture will be the same
edit: I didn't mean to contradict myself there, what I meant was that HD's are typically brighter, but the amount of pixels wont make a huge impact being that small

She has some memory issues so she usually remembers me when I was a kid still. I guess back when I saw her a lot more often. She's getting a little bit better now though.

For birthday presents, I solved the problem by asking for only money for the past 2 years. It has worked so far!

it happens, i know how it is myself when trying to pick out gifts for people, even close family it's not easy. i seem to have pretty good ideas, but you never truly know if they dislike it or not, and imo that's not something that's fun worrying about. so my tip is, accept and make the best of it and hope someone don't go and make a thread like this when you give something to them.

also, if your HDTV has component input you're going to want to use that over your SDTV. just saying, 480p makes a ton of difference, a TON, much more pleasant to play on. you just have to sit closer to the TV, i've got a 19" widescreen lcd pc monitor and i've been playing pc games on it for well over 5 years.

Yeah, I've seen some 360 games on a HDTV with the HD cables, it looks great. I might just return it, though. There is a lot of stuff I have been meaning to get.
