I like how this thread is against randomness and yet people are being random on it

Oh James I'm really sorry but I forgot about the weekly Mario Kart race, another time yeah.

Yeah, good point - this is getting off-topic.

(Incidentally, this thread is actually opposed to topics that intentionally set out to be random and compete for post counts, which isn't what we're doing)

I particularly hate the use of the word "random" when it concerns people, as humans are not random. Everything they say and do is a result of complex neurological and chemical impulses, and not randomness in a mathematical sense.

When people say "I'm a bit random!" they actually mean "I am, at best, pleasingly unpredictable; at worst, infuriatingly insecure to the extend I spout gibberish as a method of appearing original and unique."

If you describe yourself as "random", please refrain from doing so from now on.

I think saying a person is "random" is an easier way to describe what you just said

Maybe there needs to be a miscellaneous or random topic thread where randomeers can post what topics they wish inside.

Personally, i dont feel bothered by random topics. If it looks like something i dont seem interested in, i wont view it lol. Simple as that, i have a brain, i can use it to pick what i want to view, dont need to open it and scan through every post to come to decide that for myself. I know that just because i dont like the random topic doesnt mean alot of other more random people don't, so ill let them be

However, the only part about random i dont like is when people say "this is pointless", "im dissapointed with the quality of topics" and stupid **** like that lol If every topic you see sux to you and your ego, go make your own "uber important and awesome" topic, and then see the feedback you get. Not everyone's going to like every kind of topic, so if you dont like it, move on to the next, don't be brash and try to crush down everyone enjoying the topic, thats weak man, totally weak lol

There was a big random topic but it got locked due to a lot of complaints. Something about flooding the forum even though it was the only big random thread for a couple of days. Maybe the more intelligent one Gabe started will last.

I agree with DaDun. I was extremely surprised to hear people had been complaining. That's beyond my comprehension, to think the contents of a forum would be reason enough to contact NintendoLife, when they've got more important things to do like delivering content and reviews. If you don't like it, do your best to raise the tone and engage others in meaningful threads, don't fester in the background while these newcomers stomp all over your garden.

And what's with the 'goodbye I'm leaving threads', that's f'in hilarious. A virtual person waving good by (or looking for attention) to a virtual room full of virtual people. I know I'm new to forum's but that's plain weird. Rant over. I have cake btw. And it's yum!

EDIT: Ha! Was that a bit much!? 0_o I love reading my posts a day or two later, ha!

After my complaint about the locking of The Random Things to Say Forum of Randomness, this was added:

Prosody wrote:

I locked this topic because we've had a lot of emails and comments from members saying that the random threads are getting a bit annoying and starting to clog up the board, meaning the more interesting threads get lost in the mire.

The "more interesting" threads? As it just so happens, that was my favorite thread you locked right there! Just because there were too many random threads doesn't mean you had to lock ALL of them! You could've left that one open, at least.

My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

Nothing is ever purely random anyway; it's probably just an obfuscated algorithm based on the CPU's timestamp.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.
