My Physics teacher recently gave us the task to create a container made out of cardboard and make it so that when we place an egg in the container and drop it two stories, the egg should not break. Now I've already created the container with the required dimensions (15 cm x 15 cm x 15 cm) and I've placed 3 stacks of plastic straws and cotton to help absorb impact. I need to use something to help slow the container's descent to the ground. I tried a plastic bag, but it didn't go so well. I need to figure out what to use to slow it down. Any ideas?

I wrapped my egg using most of the tape given to us in the predetermined materials during 3rd grade. The rest of the materials went to making the container. Worked and I won first place but I don't think wrapping the egg is allowed anymore. My little cousin asked for help and he said they weren't allowed to tape up the egg.
Suspend the egg with a bunch of elastic bands so it just bounces around inside the container.

I remeber doing that in grade school. a lot of us made crazy contraptions that mostly failed. The girl that did it best just wrapped the egg in bubblewrap. I was pissed.
I put it in water and froze it into a giant block and stuck it in the box. It was a first period class, so it hadn't melted much by the time I dropped it. My teacher gave me a frowny-face sticker for violating the spirit of the competition. What a b****.
