If you're thirsty, then you're already dehydrated. That's what The Doctors said. You know, the ones on TV? ...
One time while riding to a summer camp on a van, someone got a huge bottle of Smartwater at a stop when they told us that this would be the last stop for hours. And then that person drank it. All.
To the left and right, all we could see was wilderness. The deserty kind. Haha, that was great. Not for him though...
I remember a couple weeks ago I drank a 1.5 L bottle of water in the morning. That is about the most I have drank though, that was a hot day.

I almost never drink water, and I hardly ever feel thirsty. When I do drink something, it's usually only juice and it's more for the calories because I'm underweight.
first: misterquin, why have you hijacked my avatar? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
second: I could type out all of the huge amount of benefits of drinking water, or the fact that the body is 2/3 water (not 90%, kids are impressionable Phoenix. ;p ), but I'll just throw this link in for a few important tidbits: http://www.mangosteen-natural-remedies.com/benefits-of-drinki...
As someone has already mentioned, constantly being thirsty may point to medical conditions such as diabetes. You've stated that you are overweight for your age and that is another thing that goes hand-in-hand with diabetes. I would definately bring it up at the next check-up with your doctor. It's probably nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
The possibility of dying from water intoxication is slim to none and extremely rare. Although, a couple of years ago, there was a competition to win a Nintendo Wii in which the winner had to drink more water than any of the other participants. The lady who won, died on her way home of water intoxication. She exhibited symptoms before she left the competition, but everyone ignored her. All she wanted was to win a Wii for her kids. (true story)
When I race, I am often standing out in the hot North Carolina sun for an entire day with near-100% humidity and no shade whatsoever. I am ALWAYS drinking water. It sweats out almost as fast as you can put it in.

Ahh, I'm so sorry! I couldn't remember... D:
Everyone, you're only drinking like 66% people! You're less caniballistic than once thought!

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Thanks for all the info! But yeah I got checked last year and I was fine but I still need to this year. And yeah the Wii thing was different though, she died because it was a 'hold your wee for a wii contest' and she drank all that water and held it
I drink tons of water since it aids concentration (your brain works best when it's got a nice bath of fluid to work in, and can become dehydrated well before you feel thirsty) and I've got a TON of stuff to learn recently. As of yet I haven't exploded or died.
I don't drink much water at all. Granted, I drink booze and liquid toast. And... I forgot where I was going with that.

Drinking a lot of water is okay, but what happens when the Earth runs out?
Then we shall drink the water that's on the sun!

Drinking a lot of water is not a bad thing at all. If you are overweight, it probably takes more water to satisfy your thirst, but its better to drink lots of water than lots of soda. I know that with my job, I am drinking a few Liters of water just in the hours I am at work because its hard labor, and I am a pretty skinny guy. I go through spurts where I drink too much soda, and it not only makes you feel like crap, but it also really screws with your digestive system.

I find that if I drink fizzy pop, I'm thirsty again really quickly. Like within 10 minutes I'm pouring myself another glass. And then another and etc until eventually I just feel really full and I've downed more than half of a 2-litre bottle of Diet Coke. And I still feel thirsty even though I couldn't possibly drink anymore if I tried. Whereas with water, one glass of it and I don't need a drink again for ages.
