Topic: Dragon Quest V glitch

There’s a glitch in my game where my party members just for no reason disappeared from my party during battle but still is present in my group when walking around. Has anyone else encountered this glitch? I would buy another copy of the game but I already spent over 16 hours and it would be annoying to replay from the beginning. Is there any way to get around this glitch?

Are you talking about how some party members are automatically moved to your wagon when entering certain areas?

That was my first thought.

IIRC, there are some enemy abilities during combat that move party members to your wagon as well.

I’m not 100% sure, I was walking around the area where Nera and Deborah’s family lives to level up for the lava cave then suddenly I noticed it was just me and that tomato monster when before I had two other members in battle including Saber.

Is there any way to get your partners to come out of the wagon in battle with you?

@Don: In Monstroferrato? It's normal for the game to dump most or all monsters out of the party and into the wagon in towns. I'm assuming that it does this here and in other locations since most of the NPCs don't "trust" monsters. (If your experience in Hay is any indication.)

As for your other question, you can switch out party members during battle with the "Party" option.

Thank you. I was able to put some monsters back outside the wagon. I guess it’s not a glitch then.

@Don: No prob! The game will also place any human companions (such as Bianca) from your wagon and into your party when entering some areas as well. The only way that I know of to get around this is to leave any human companions with Patty the Party Planner. She unfortunately isn't available quite this early in the game.

I agree that it's a fairly annoying mechanic, but it can be adapted to. I've only played the DS version, so I'm unsure if this was an issue in the SNES game.
