well i'm reading Dracula for a school Project thats due next week. I've read books longer then this in shorter time then its taking me to read this. Has anyone else had this problem reading this Book because i have a few questions.

In my Plot summary how should i set it up. Should i write the summary as the journal entrys are in the book or write seperate summaries for each character and then show how they cross together with the Letters and news reports.

Also which movie is the defenitive Adaption of the Novel I'm going with the 92 version but i'm not sure.

so other then that lets just discuss the book. (for any refrence i'm at the part after Dr.steward and Van helsing gave lucy the blood transfussion.

There is do definitive film adaption of this novel. The film versions often omit certain characters, switch around other characters, add elements to the plot that weren't in the novel, etc etc. The famous 1931 Bela Lugosi version of Dracula was based on the stage play which was basically an abridged adaption of the novel. The 1992 Francis Ford Coppola version with Gary Oldman is perhaps the worst offender- it changes and adds a lot of new things. Contrary to it's title "Bram Stoker's Dracula" this is in my opinion the least faithful adaption of the book. Because Universal Studios owns the film rights to the singular "Dracula" title and Coppola's version was produced through Columbia Pictures it was given the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" title. Unfortunately many people who haven't read the book (or lie and say the did) often confuse this version as being "definitive" simply because it's called "Bram Stoker's Dracula". All the many versions in between these two are just as inconsistent.

In regards to a plot summary- i would just break down how the story is largely told via letters and journal entries and explain how the characters factor into the story. Be warned though, I would not, under any circumstances rely on a film version to make up for reading the book. There are so many inconsistencieses, changes and omissions in the film adaptions, that you will be caught. Despite the many enjoyable and entertaining versions of the story on film, here's hoping someone adapts this book properly one day.

Agreed on the film adaptation thing. There really is no definitive adaptation, and Coppola's was ... umm ... well ... Winona Rider was in it. I like her. =)
