My sister accidentally poured water on her 3DS a couple of days ago, and today it started showing that it was damaged. It gave out a loud buzz-like noise, didn't hear it clearly since I wasn't in the room. Had any situations like that? Even if they weren't really damaged?
The most memorable ones for me was this one alarm clock that I had to get, WOULD NOT shut up, no matter how many times I pressed "Snooze", "Off", or whatever. So I unplugged it...it was STILL going off! WTF?! xD (after that I had to open it up and get the batteries out)
Then way back when I was a kid I had this electronic toy dinosaur that kept roaring randomly one night and woke me up, (I think this was its way of telling you of a low battery) can't remember what else I did...but I think i was freaking out and slamming it against the wall/ floor. >.>

I just realized who your avatar is, and your username. I just started watching Eureka 7 last week, it's good so far.
On topic, i once dropped my phone out a three story window at a job site, it survived unscaved. It was a Nokia though. The weirest thisg that ever freaked out for me though was when my touch lamp started going on and off whenever it wanted. I eventually figured out that it only occured during lightning storms, and each time the lightning would flash it would change. The same thing happed to the motion sensing lights in a room of mine.

If I was in any situation in which my device goes Bazonkers, I will go mad. Especially if I was in such a situation like yours.
I keep great care of all my electronics so this never happens to me.
My original model DS started randomly strobing between light settings, and stopped reading DS cartridges. So I bought a dsi.

Yeah same here...but sometimes (like the alarm clock thing) it just happens randomly. And then there was the time hen my Wii made this very loud buzzing noise for about 5 seconds before the disc drive went out. (though, I should've known that the constant low buzzing wasn't normal to begin with) Other than that I do take care of my devices, I think my Wii was just having a senior moment. xD
EDIT: @Kagamine - A couple of years back I browsing the TV, saw this anime and this green-haired girl...kept watching...kept thinking about her...and yeah...I think she's the only reason I got into the anime. xD
One time when a device freaked me out was when I was in the middle of playing and it said connection lost .It freaked me out because I was in the middle of playing Mario Kart 7 Multplayer online.

Number one rule with water soaked electronics: DO NOT TURN IT ON!
It will short out and you'll end up with an expensive paperweight if you turn it on. Let it dry out for about a week and then you can turn it on to see if it works. I hear putting it in dry rice helps too.
In your case however, I'm afraid you are going to have to send it to Nintendo because it's not going to fix itself.
Yeah I didn't get to tell her in time to turn it off (though it seems like it started working fine once restarting it after dealing with...erm, THAT), and its probably too late, I already emailed them about it. But yeah, the freaky noise and the temporary screwed up screens tells me the water already damaged it.

@Dave2012 sorry, but that's an extremely frequent problem. Mario Kart 7 loses connection a lot, but it really doesnt lag. That's the problem that anyone who's played mk7 online has dealt with. I assure you this is not abnormal.

In case anyone cares, i can totally vouch for dry rice working with wet electronics. My husband dumped out a full glass of soda onto the floor last weekend, soaking my PSP in the process (he'd been playing it and set it aside onto the floor)... he tried turning it on after paper toweling it off and it didn't work at all. I took out the battery and the memory stick, stuck the whole thing into a bag of dry rice, we left it alone until about two days ago and then gave it a shot. works perfectly :3 /me knocks on wood just in case D:

...Been wondering, how does that even work though if the water got INSIDE the device? xD

Water flows from high density (the soaked electronic device) to low density (the bag full of dry rice). Sometimes it pays to pay attention in science class.

We never talked about rice in science class. xD

I think you would need a pretty big bag to take in all of the rice.
But I remember way back in 2002 when I was younger, I was playing Ed Edd and Eddy: Jawbreakers (An actually fun game), and got stuck on this one part while drinking a 2L bottle of Coke (I poured it in a cup, of course.) Then Edd died and I freaked out because of the annoying voice sample ("WAAA!") that I spilled the almost filled bottle on my GBA, make the screen white and fuzzy. (Fits the title screen as it's supposed to be like the show's intro). I freaked out so badly that I had to get a new GBA. (And I have 5 of them now, without my 2 broken ones I could have a grand total of 7.)
