I was reading the latest issue of Game Informer, and I noticed a lot of negativity towards Nintendo. This latest issue covers E3, which most all fans agree that Nintendo hit out of the park. However, I was greatly surprised after reading how Microsoft and Sony both scored a C+ for their presentations that Nintendo was only given a C rating.
This troubled me a little bit, which was only reinforced when I read about the Hot 50 games coming out. Nintendo didn't make an appearance until #18 with Super Smash Bros, and then followed with 21, 28, 34, 40, 42, and 46.
But the icing on the cake came when I read the reviews archive at the end. PS 4 boasted 29 games reviewed, a lot of which were reviewed in January and most of which are from PS 3, and Xbox One had 31, and again, same case with January reviews and games from the previous system. Wii U was given 7. I know the console doesn't have as many releases, but come on! 7!?
I was just greatly upset by the latest Informer. Has anyone noticed this or anything in the past?
No, they don't. A half letter grade means almost nothing, and they're reviewing more PS4 and Xbox One games because those are still fairly new and are more popular.
Yes and no. Most of the staff of the magazine do not like Nintendo, but two of their writers are actually die-hard Nintendo fans. So as a whole the answer is yes, but individually not all of their staff dislikes Nintendo.
I don't think so. Them giving a C to Nintendo's E3 is a bit unfair in my opinion but each to their own. They usually give fair, unbiased scores to Nintendo games.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I doubt it. I just assume its another big games journalism company being slightly stupid.

I read the same issue and thought the same about the review and score. However Nintendo games often rate slightly higher from them so the worries are not as bad. They said Splatoon shoes a lot of promise but needs to get a whole lot better in the control department but why worry about that now when it's still so far off. Its like they were going to release it this year or something. They also didn't care for the absence of a certain big franchise and we'll neither did I tbh.
Overall I don't feel that they're to bias as there is just nothing from 3rd parties and that was their biggest concern!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
