Mega evolution isn't going. It's perfectly fine. Other than rediculous stuff like mega rayquaza, kanga, and salamence.. mega evolution is honestly a good thing making certain pokemon much more usable in any format. It's not a bad mechanic at all, it just depends on how well they handle it.. the distribution and lore behind it needs polished majorly.

The only thing I don't like about mega evolution is when the mega evolved pokemon one shot everyone on my team, but that's more of a being under-leveled thing. That, and some of the the mega abilities could be a little bit cooler...I'm looking at you Refrigerate.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels

Another thing, does Mega Evolution mean that pokemon that already have Megas won't get normal evolutions.
Yes but honestly they weren't getting anything anyway... other wise gen 4 would've introduce way more and gen 5 would've had something... even gen 6 could've made evolutions (and give those evolutions megas).

@BurningSonic: They would have baby forms instead if they ever do get new evolutionary stages. Having a Mega evolutionary form ends that Pokemon's evolution. We shouldn't ever see Aerodactyl evolve into anything other than Mega Aerodactyl but we could see two prevo Aerodactyl forms.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
Mega Evolutions are a good thing, but they should probably hold off giving them to legendaries for a while. Because they're supposed to make underused Pokemon usable, not make super powerful Pokemon break the metagame in half like Mega Rayquaza, both Mega Mewtwo forms or Primal Groudon/Kyogre.
Ultra Evolutions (even more powerful than Mega Evolutions) only obtainable via amiibo. Scan your Smash series Pokemon amiibo to the NFC reader and you get rewarded with a special held item.

That's exactly what I want in Sun & Moon. I'm so glad you painted that picture for me since I had no idea what I wanted as an addition
Lol tbh though I really would be a bit bored more regular evolutions on already existing Pokemon anyway. That feels like beating a dead horse as well, especially if they give some really old ones that never got another stage a new evolution of sorts. There's still a bunch of Gen 2, 3 and of course 6 that could get other stages...

Don't give Nintendo or Game Freak any ideas! They'd actually do something like that!
