Right now with key people leaving the big companies like Kojima, Inafune, The Castlevania creator whose name escapes me right now big companies like Konami, Capcom will crash or at least leave they game industry. While they might not be able to use the Mega Man, or Metal Gear names people will look at games like Mighty No. 9 as Mega Man games or this new Castlevania like game as the next Castlevania something that Capcom and Konami won't give us gamers. As a result people will support these guys and stop supporting the bigger companies or at least not as much.

If Kojima started his own studio came out with a spiritual seccessor to the Metal Gear series as well as a game based off of the P.T. demo and that Castlevania like game comes out what will Konami have that people would want?

So no the industry as a whole won't crash, but I think big companies will.

I support new ideas we need a console to support the idea like ouya(great idea that did not work)there needs to be a company who will make a ouya type console
open to all,new games with new ideas, new companies making games

Thing is people do not want new things. If that was the case things like OUYA and motion controls would have taken off not flounder and games like CoD Assassin's Creed etc. would have stopped long ago. Yeah people say they want new but they don't show it.

I have a different view. I think we are currently in the middle of the crash. I believe this has been happening since around 2009. Companies have downsized, disappeared, or work on other tech projects such as building mobile apps.

I believe when this all shakes out, video games will be regarded like the movie industry. I believe that there will be blockbuster movies sprinkled throughout the year, which is the same as games. Summer movies is the same as games released September thru November.

There will be a half dozen to ten big games a year. These games will be expected to sell 7 - 8 million units or more. Smaller games will release throughout the year and make up the rest. These games will carry a smaller price tag and allow the companies to take a chance on new ideas. The blockbuster's will be proven ideas, and many of the games are sequels. Just like the movie industry.

I believe Nintendo should operate a little differently. I would like to see them with four medium to large releases annually. Quite possibly quarterly. They would sprinkle smaller games throughout the year to fill in gaps. Dr. Luigi, Kirby Wii U, Mario Vs Donkey Kong Tripping Stars are all example of these. Nintendo would also need to get a handful of the large blockbuster games a year.

Now the key for Nintendo is to take a game and have it be supported for the life of the system, or longer. The game should either allow user generated content, DLC, and/or patches. A third party game like Madden 13 would receive patches annually to up the gameplay as well as roster updates. Black Ops 2, would be the same way, but they may also receive DLC quarterly or so.

Nintendo would concentrate on making games smaller in scope but infinitely repayable. The game would be expanded with the User Generated Content, DLC, or patches. Mario Kart may start with 24 tracks and expand to 40 over the lifespan of the system. Same with Smash Bros. Original roster may be 24 characters and expand to 50 over time.

Less games made, with higher productions values and longer to sell the game at a high value. Pursuing this model would allow a company to not drop the price as quickly.

We need a new console to start the new era that is what NX is it will be a PS4 on steroids and with a mini gamepad(vita like device where you can take the games with you any where with cross buy and play)
and able to use the new 3ds and 3ds as a controller too. a truly unified platform I also like this name for the console
the Nintendo Xtreme or something like that but do not continue the Wii name but the compatibility

How is that a sign? It just means that Konami is expanding their business practices that's all. So Pepsi just started selling Baja Blast Mountain Dew I suppose you think something bad is going to happen to the soda industry?

Why do you keep saying that? You're making no sense. I know it's about gaming. What did you think I thought this was about movies?

Hate to break it to ya, but games don't exist in their own bubble. There's a world of products out there, and the same basic rules of sale apply to all of them. Companies aren't going to do what will appease their supporters if it doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint. Konami's making more money off of mobile games and gyms, yes, that kind of gym, than they are console games. They were never a company to focus on games in the first place. No matter what you may say, Konami represents an outlier in the industry, one that viewed games as a side business instead of their core product. That's not a good representation of the state of the industry as a whole, so Konami's actions most likely do not bring omens of a massive games crash.
