Topic: Do you think Pauline should stay as Recurring Character in the Series

@ZeldaFangirl That‘s what I was referring to. Well, I‘m probably sick of her because she‘s even in smaller rosters like the newer Mario Partys or Mario Tennis for WiiU, when I‘d rather see more classic characters in that spot like DK in MP or Baby Mario or Birdo in MT (by classic I‘m referring to characters who have made appearances in that series for much longer or more regular). As for the Koopalings, while I do like them and am glad for their inclusion in Smash and MK8, I agree that they, like Boom Boom, have been used too frequently in the past NSMB titles but that mostly stems from Nintendo‘s utter laziness when it comes to shoving out more NSMB games, if you ask me.

@dimi I agree that it‘d probably have Mario‘s name somewhere in there. That‘s a marketing pill they‘d definitely wanna have in there. Also the idea having the screen vertically is genius, though how would you do that with Switch? Even in tabletop mode, the Switch would need some kind of stand and the built in one is only for horizontal use. Sure, you can hold it on one joy-con but that sounds uncomfortable to hold for longer play sessions.

Oh god, remember when Birdo was in Nintendo games? Daisy should go the way of the Birdo.

@GoldenGamer88 Well that's because Rosalina is apart of the main recurring cast being Mario Luigi Peach Daisy Yoshi Wario Waluigi Bowser Toad and Toadette. DK and Mario debuted at the same time but DK isn't a SUPER Mario character, he has his own series with his own gang.

I will agree on the classics part but then again I love seeing all Classic and Modern Character come together. And Rosalina is not my favorite character but I will give her some credit for some things, Rosalina may not be classic at all but she DID Earn her place in the series. She was admittedly really cool in the Super Mario Galaxy series, which was one of the best games in the series. She didn't just show up out of no where like Waluigi or Toadette did.

She helped Mario get to the center of universe to save Peach and Mario Peach Bowser and the entire universe could've been destroyed by that black-hole if she hadn't reset time and universe. She was one of the first Super Mario main females who didn't getting introduced as some damsel in distress you had to save. Like how Peach Zelda Daisy and Pauline were introduced.

And it's not Rosalina's fault she's on the roster and other characters aren't, the people responsible for that are Camelot and Nd Cube they make The sports and Party games, their problem is since they AREN'T Nintendo, they are not aware of most other Mario character which is why the most common ones "Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Daisy, Yoshi, DK, Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, Toad and Toadette" are always first to be added. Nintendo wasn't lazy by letting other developers make these game by their selves maybe we'd see Both Classic and Modern Characters together in spinoffs

@ZeldaFangirl DK has his own series and yet he always appears in Mario Kart and the various sports titles but not in Mario Party, for whatever reason. If it wasn't for Rosalina's inclusion (never said she was at fault for her own inclusion, how could she be, she's a fictional character lol), we could've had the classic N64 crew back together in Mario Party: The Top 100 - not that this would've made the game any better, though. But the devs clearly don't care about more than making a quick cash grab.

On the topic of Rosalina's importance, yes, she was important to one game and its plot. But I'd argue DK is more important given that he was Mario's OG nemesis. True, he only had that role for a few games and has then been given life as a hero by Rare, but I'd argue that makes him an important figure to the Super Mario franchise as a whole.

In general, I'm always of the mindset to keep the playable roster growing between releases instead of kicking old ones out for newcomers, especially in series like Mario Party or Mario Kart, where characters don't take as much time to program as in fighting games and the like. The more the merrier is a saying after all.

But with that, I do wanna finish our little discussion considering the topic is on Pauline's inclusion in future Mario titles.

I have a feeling Pauline won't show up in another maingame for some reason

I mean I don't know I like her character but now she would seem out of place if she wasn't running new donk city because i'm pretty sure they only put her there because the city was based off DK

I tend to agree, but i would be happy if she did. I expect we will probably see her in other games like the Mario sports titles, Kart and/or Smash.

I do have a strange feeling that we might at some point see a Mario & Luigi series spinoff type game starring Pauline and Peach.

I am much more of a fan of Rosalina myself and was kind of bummed her Amiibo did nothing special in Odyssey. But I wouldn't mind seeing Paulina pop up again in the future. If Nintendo could find a way to put the two in the same room with Peach and Daisy I think it would be pretty funny.
