Topic: Do you think I got ripped off? Also, selling games.

So, I've been researching selling games for too long now. I sold some recent games that I bought within the last four years, just to receive some credit for the 3DS.

These games were Twilight Princess and The Simpsons Game. Now, in Australia these games were bought for 100 dollars each, and together I sold them for 30 dollars. I actually thought that was a good deal, going by the prices I looked at online (and people's bids for the games on ebay), but my friend insists I was ripped off. Tell me he's wrong...?

Another thing... my childhood games; ugh, I'm disgusted that this bothers me, but I can't bring myself to sell them. They're apparently sentimental now, and I don't even play the things anymore - they've just been sitting in a box for the past eight years. What should I do with 'em?

As you said, you looked the prices up online so don't feel ripped off. I don't think these games are very popular anymore so i can see why they're only sold so cheap.
Now about your childhood games.
It sounds like they're not worth very much. So i would only sell them to get some space for other things in the room.
Maybe make some pictures of them first before you really sell them.
Another option might be just to sell the cartridges or CD's and keep the manual and the box. But i would only do that if i really needed some money badly.

lol, it sounds like you should've sold the games to your friend if he wanted to pay you more than the going price for 'em. you looked the prices up and were satisfied with what you got, so tell 'im to stfu about it already, lol. :3

as for the childhood games, idk... i'm kinda in the same boat, haha — i've got boxes of crap i haven't touched in years either. i still keep it around in hopes i'll have a house someday where i'll be able to display it all properly again.

As long as your happy with the deal thats all that matter.

As for the childhood game yep I am the same as you and Blackdragon there I have a bunch of NES SNES Genesis games etc. My thought are since I dont know what system the games are for all I know is you can be talking about Gamecube games my response here is simple lol. If you are talking about games like Atari games or NES or some other system that are hard to find now than you might want to hold on to them god I dont know how many games and systems I sold off and regret it later only to have a hard time tracking them down again.

If its something like PS2 or Gamecube games you can still find those relatively easy. You just might want to check around and see if you can find a copy and how much its going for before parting with it though.

However if you really need the money for like bills or stuff than well you gotta do what you gotta do.

If I don't play them and can sell them, I will do. I have way too much clutter and need the money. I've sold several old games recently. All I want is a means to play the game, having the physical cartridge means nothing to me except for it being more clutter. I've sold games only to download them on the Wii.

I don't bother selling PS2 games since its not worth it. I wouldn't get anything for them and they're probably not in the best condition anyway.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Just don't make the mistake I did and sell more games than you should've, because I long time ago I sold many NES, SNES, GB, and PS1 games for store credit for a PSP when they first came out. To this day, I regretted it, not because the PSP sucks, but because I sold some really unique and nostalgic games that now a days are selling for a lot more and I probably would still play them........maybe lol.
In the end, use your best decision.

Keep your old games that you're sentimental about. You'll probably regret it somewhere down the road if you sell them off. Also, if they're older games, you're not going to get much for them anyway, so it's probably not really worth it.

And once again TBD, you speak (type? lol) words that are in my brain. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE? xD
Just don't make a mess, and please use a coaster.

Hmm... What I do when I'm selling a game is I figure if the money they offer is worth more than the enjoyment or fun I would get out of it. If it is then I sell it.
